Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers or other containers filled with water.

The proximity of water is hazardous, even if the appliance is switched off. For additional protection, we recommend that you install a residual current circuit breaker with an activation power rating of no more than 30 mA for the power circuit in the bathroom. Ask your electrician for advice.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

▶ Use only the supplied original accessories, since these have been optimised for interaction with the appliance. Other parts may not be adequately safe.

SILVERCREST SBHS 50 C2 - Unpacking - 1

WARNING! RISK OF SUFFOCATION!

▶ Do not allow children to play with packaging materials. There is a risk of suffocation.

First use

■ Before you use the appliance, ensure that ...

- the appliance is in working order, - all packaging materials have been removed.

■ Clean the appliance as described in "Cleaning and care".

Switching on/off /Selecting a heat setting

■ After you have plugged the appliance into the mains, you can switch it on with the level switch ⑥ and select the heat level:

- "0" The appliance is switched off, both LEDs 4/5 are off - "1" for fine hair (the LED for fine hair (level 1) 5 flashes) - "2" for thick hair (the LED for thick hair (level 2) 4 flashes)

■ After you have selected a heat level, the respective LED 4/5 starts to flash, indicating that the appliance is heating up.

As soon as the selected temperature is reached, the LED ④/⑤ lights up permanently.

Automatic switch-off

This appliance is fitted with an automatic switch-off system. After 30 minutes, the appliance will switch itself off automatically. After around 25 minutes, the LED ④/⑤ that was lit last starts to flash to inform you that the appliance is about to switch off automatically. If you want to continue using the appliance, switch it off for a moment and then back on again.

NOTE

The automatic switch-off is a safety function only and is not intended as a replacement for switching the appliance off properly using the level switch 6!

Styling - straightening

For straightening, the hair should be dry and free of styling products. This does not apply to products designed to promote the straightening process or protect the hair from the effects of heat.

The appliance is heated up to the desired level and the hair is combed and free of knots.

- Separate individual strands.

Twist a strand around the styling brush ② and pull it down slowly (depending on the type of hair) from the roots to the tips. While doing so, curl the styling brush ② inwards a little.

■ Proceed the same way with the other strands.

Once you are finished styling, turn the level switch ⑥ to "0" and pull out the plug from the mains power socket.

Styling - curling

For styling, the hair should be dry or slightly damp and free of styling products. This does not apply to products that protect the hair from the effects of heat.

The appliance is heated up to the desired level and the hair is combed and free of knots.

Twist the end of the strand around the styling brush ② and then roll the styling brush ② upwards. We recommend rolling the strand just enough to leave a few centimetres free to the hairline. This makes it easier for the styling brush ② to come off. If you want to curl the strand up to the hairline, make sure that the hair is straight in the bristles and not knotted. Hold the appliance only by the holding tip ① and handle. The styling brush ② will become very hot.

■ Wait for 8 -15 seconds (depending on the length and thickness of the hair).

Press the curl release button ③ and simultaneously pull the appliance out of the strand in a downwards direction. The styling brush ② turns so that the strand can be unrolled easily.

■ Proceed the same way with the other strands.

Once you are finished styling, turn the level switch ⑥ to "0" and pull out the plug from the mains power socket.
