GENERAL PRECAUTIONS

General precautions during the use of electrical equipment

  • Do not use the appliance for any other purpose than described in this manual.
  • Do not use or store the appliance outdoors.
    • Always place the appliance on to the flat and even surface.
  • This product is intended for indoor, non-industrial, non-commercial and only for household use. Do not use the item outdoors or for any other purpose. Misuse or improper

handling may cause problems in the appliance and cause injury to the user.

- The unit must be used only for the intended purposes. No liability is accepted for damages arising from improper use or wrong handling.

- Ensure that the voltage indicated on the nameplate matches the mains voltage before plugging in the appliance.

- Always remove the plug from the power socket when the appliance is not in use. Do not leave the appliance unattended when switched on.

- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is being used by or near children.

- Before cleaning or storing your appliance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply and let it cool down.

- The device is not completely disconnected from the power source, even after it has been turned off. To disconnect it completely, disconnect it from the mains plug.

- The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as

- Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;

II. Restrictions on use to avoid personal injury

  • Do not let the appliance operate unattended.
  • Do not place or operate this appliance near water sources.
  • Do not place or operate the appliance and its power cord on or near hot surfaces (e.g., stove plates) or open flames.
  • Do not leave the power cord hanging from sharp edges and keep away from hot objects and flames. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
  • Never use accessories that are not recommended by the manufacturer.
  • The use of accessories not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
  • When you want to remove the plug from the wall contact, please do this at the plug itself and not by pulling on the cable or the appliance itself.
  • To avoid electric shock, make sure your hands are dry before plugging or unplugging.
  • Do not use the device with wet hands, on damp floors or when the atmosphere is humid, there is a risk of electric shock.
  • While using the appliance, make sure that the power cord must not be caught or crushed.

- Do not touch the outer surface of the appliance as it can get very hot during operation. Instead, use the handle or mitts.

III. ⚠️ Product use restrictions due to poor condition or breakdown

  • Never immerse the appliance or the plug-in water or any other liquid. In the event of the appliance falling in water, disconnect immediately from the mains supply and take it to an authorized service agent for repair before reusing.
  • Do not use the appliance if it has fallen on the floor, if there are visible signs of damage or if it has a leak.
  • Do not use the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged. In case of the cord be damaged, it must be replaced only by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid Hazard.
  • In case of appliance malfunction, or if it has been damaged in any manner, return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
  • In case of hardware problems, do not attempt to repair the product yourself. Repairs should only be carried out by qualified technicians.

IV. ⚠️! Restrictions on use when used with children and elders

given supervision or instruction.

- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

V. ⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING

  • To avoid a circuit overload when using this product, do not operate another high-wattage product on the same electrical circuit.
  • A short power supply cord is provided with this product. An extension cord is not recommended for use with this product, but if one must be used:
  • The marked electrical rating of the cord must be at least as great as that of the product.
  • Arrange the extension cord so that it does not hang where it can be tripped over or pulled unintentionally.

VI. Instructions to follow while using the device

- Your supply socket must be properly earthed.

- Clean the water container before the first usage.

- During use, the product must be located in a position, which is not easily reached by children, and the cover should be securely closed to avoid spillage of boiling water.

• This product should only be used to boil water. Please do not boil other liquids such as milk and coffee.

- Fill with water according to the pre-set water level with minimum level at “MIN” and maximum level at “MAX”.

- Switch off and unplug from the outlet before filling, emptying or cleaning, or when not in use.

- If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.

- Do not operate or place any part of this appliance on or near hot surfaces (such as gas or electric burner or in a heated oven).

- Avoid touching the surface of the hot kettle, use the handle and knobs.

- To avoid possible steam damage, do not face the spout when operating the kettle.

- If operated on wood furniture, use a protective pad to prevent damage to delicate finishes.

• To avoid scalding, always ensure the lid is correctly positioned before operation.

- Scalding may occur if the lid is removed while heating.

  • Carefully open the lid when it is hot.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving the kettle containing hot water. Never lift the kettle by its lid. Always use the body handle.
  • Do not switch your kettle on if it is empty.
  • To protect from electrical hazard, do not immerse this kettle, power base or cord set in any liquid.
  • To protect against fire, do not operate it in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
  • Should you accidentally allow the kettle to operate without water; the boil-dry protection will automatically switch it off. If this should occur, allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold water and re-boiling.
  • This appliance can be used with the base provided or sold by the supplier, any accessory attachments that are not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.

6. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

BEFORE USING

  • Read the important safeguards and Caution.
  • Fill kettle up to the MAX WATER MARK and let the water boil, pour the water, cool the kettle and repeat for at least 3 times before using.

HOW TO USE

  1. Place the water kettle upright on a dry, sturdy and flat surface.
  2. Remove the kettle from the base. Open the lid by pressing the safety lock of lid. Fill the kettle with fresh water through the spout, make sure that the water level pass the minimum level (0.5 Litre) and does not exceed the maximum level (1.7 Litre). Before closing the lid and placing it back to the base, ensure that the kettle has not yet been switched on ("l" position).
  3. Dry the water on the bottom of the body if it is wet, then place the kettle securely back to the

base. Insert the plug into a suitable socket and switch the kettle to the "I" position. The power indicator will be on.

  1. After reaching the boiling point, the kettle will be shut off automatically by the safety cut-out function.
  2. To pour hot water, remove the container from the base, ensure the lid remains closed while pour out the water.
  3. You may also shut the kettle off at any time by pressing the "on/off" switch to the "0" position. After the boiling is finished, allow the kettle to cool down for 15 minutes before refilling cold water.

WARNING DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER!

To protect from Electrical hazard, do not immerse this Kettle, its power base or its cord set in any liquid.

7. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and cool it down completely before cleaning. Never immerse the kettle, power cord or power base in water, or allow moisture to contact with these parts. Wipe the appearance of body with a damp cloth or cleaner, never use a poisonous cleaner.

CAUTION: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle to prevent the loss of gloss.

Descaling the kettle

Please follow all instructions on descaling products carefully.

  1. Fill the kettle with water up to half of the maximum level; add about two tablespoons of vinegar into the water.
  2. Switch the Kettle on and let the solution reach boiling point.
  3. Leave the solution in the kettle for a few minutes.
  4. Empty the kettle, wash it with clean water.
  5. After rinsing, fill the kettle with clean water and bring to the point of boil for one more time.
  6. If limescale is still present in kettle, repeat this process.

Keep Warm Switch & Function:

The kettle has been provided with a special “keep warm” function. Once the water is boiled fully and the ON/OFF switch has switched OFF the kettle, you have the option to keep the water warm for up to 24 hrs by switching ON the “keep warm” Red colored switch located on the side of the kettle (see picture). The water will be kept warm at about 55°C.
