Description of the operating principle

An induction hob is an appliance that uses the principle of electromagnetic induction with the aim of transforming electricity into thermal energy.

Inside the top, a special device rectifies the direct current voltage into high frequency voltage (20-40 kHz).

The current flowing through the coil produces an electromagnetic head which causes the heating of the material with which the pot is made and, consequently, of its contents.

Each hob has two different control modes, respectively based on power and temperature. In order to ensure the necessary safety of the user, there are also protection systems, which are added to the functions that can adapt to the most varied operational needs.

The advantages of the induction cooking system are innumerable: absence of smoke, free flames and burnt gases, high energy efficiency, rapid heating and ease of cleaning. These qualities have helped to raise awareness of the limited environmental impact and the highly advanced technological content of induction hobs, whose diffusion is constantly growing.

Advantages of the induction cooking system

  1. High efficiency (thermal efficiency greater than 93%) and significant energy savings, with consequent savings on electricity supply costs.
  2. Rapidity of the heating action.
  3. Control by microprocessor, able to adapt the operation to the most varied operational needs (preparation of frying, cooking of rice, boiling water, preparation of soups, steam cooking, preparation of stews and stews, heating of milk, preparation or heating dishes directly on the table, etc.).

  4. Extreme precision in controlling the power and, therefore, the temperature.

  5. Possibility of switching on and off control via the built-in timer.
  6. Multiple security systems:

  7. interruption of operation in the absence of the pot (if the pot is removed from the hob, if its diameter is less than 12 centimeters or if its material is not suitable, the power supply is automatically interrupted).

  8. protection device against overheating of the support surface and the inside of the hob.
    • protection device against overcurrents, overvoltage and voltage drop.

  9. Safety, hygiene and reliability: ease of cleaning, absence of open flames and emission of fumes and burnt gases, absolute impossibility of damage resulting from gas leaks, explosions or fires, which can instead be verified using cooking or gas cookers.

  10. The microcrystalline glass ceramic support surface resists high temperatures and is easy to clean.

SUITABLE CONTAINERS

Flat-bottomed pots / pans / pans with a diameter of 12 in 26 cm, which bear the induction cooking symbol ( 9200 )

UNSUITABLE CONTAINERS

All pots / pans / pans with a bottom less than 12 cm or more than 26 cm, in any case that do not carry the induction cooking symbol ( )

Furthermore, metal conversion discs should not be used for the use of standard pots as these discs eliminate the economic advantage of induction and place the product under excessive strain,

Therefore, where the use of such discs is ascertained, it will not be possible to appeal to warranty treatment in case of failure.

GENERAL PRECAUTIONS

  1. Do not place the hob next to sinks or water containers, as in the event of any penetration of water inside it could be irreparably damaged.
  2. While in operation, the hob must be at least 10 centimeters away from the surrounding walls, and the air inlet and outlet slots must not be obstructed by any obstacle or object.
  3. Avoid using the hob in places where there are high temperatures, steam, humidity or gas.
  4. Avoid placing credit cards, memory devices, or any other object that could demagnetize on the hob.
  5. Since the heating action of an induction hob is very rapid, it is recommended not to place empty containers on it, but already filled with the food to be cooked.
  6. The containers to be used must not have a diameter of less than 10 centimeters or more than 26 centimeters; in the latter case they could in fact come into contact with the plastic edges of the support surface and damage them.
  7. Avoid using the hob by placing it on a metal tray or metal surface.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  1. In order to avoid the risk of overheating, it is recommended to use a direct power socket, without the interposition of extension cables, power strips or multiple plugs, 15 A and equipped with earth.
  2. Avoid cooking food enclosed in sealed containers, which could burst due to the expansion of the air inside them.
  3. During use, metal utensils that could overheat should not be placed on the hob, such as cutlery, forks, ladles or lids.
  4. Do not place the hob on flammable or heat-damaging surfaces or materials.
  5. Avoid inserting any metal objects into the hob through the ventilation slots. Otherwise, short circuits or a fire may occur.
  6. If you detect any damage to the hob, such as cracks or chips on the outside, immediately disconnect it from the power outlet and contact an authorized Technical Assistance Center.
  7. In automatic operation it is not possible to deactivate the timing and it is not possible to adjust the power and temperature.
  8. In manual operation, power or temperature adjustment and timer setting are available.
  9. Overheating protection: This appliance is equipped with overheating protection. If the pan overheats, the appliance switches off automatically, the buzzer can sound an alarm. If so, wait a few minutes and let it cool down. After that, the appliance will work without problems.
  10. This appliance can become hot during use. Do not touch the surface.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  1. Connect the hob to a power outlet.

As soon as you insert the plug of the power cord into a 220-240V, 50 / 60Hz socket, the hob beeps and the internal fan starts briefly.

  1. Place the food to be cooked in the pan and place it on the hob.
The pan must be centered on the hob.
  2. Switch the device on by lightly pressing the "ON / OFF" switch with your finger.
  3. Start the induction by pressing the "Function" button, the display shows by default the power at 1600 for the left plate or 1200 for the right one. Press + or - to choose between the power settings (from 200 to 1800W for the left plate, and from 200 to 1300W for the right one).
  4. Press the "Function" button again to go to the temperature indication, set by default to the maximum value of 240^ C. Press + or - to choose between temperature settings (60 to 240^ C).
  5. Press the "Timer" button: 0:00 appears on the display. Press + or - to set the desired time (max 3 hours); however, if no key is pressed, no time limit is set.
  6. At the end of the set time, the appliance turns off.

Note: In order not to interrupt the cooling of the inside of the hob, it is recommended not to disconnect it from the power socket while the fan is running.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Before cleaning the appliance, make sure it is turned off and unplugged from the power socket, and that it has completely cooled down.
  2. To remove dirt, use a mild detergent. Avoid using steel wool or pointed or sharp tools.
  3. Do not use abrasive sponges or abrasive cleaners
  4. After removing the dirt, use a clean damp cloth to clean the unit.
  5. Do not clean directly with water, water penetrates inside the appliance and can cause malfunctions.
  6. Clean the glass plate and pan before cooking, otherwise the dirt may char and become very difficult to clean, and the plate may become discolored.
  7. You can clean the dirt from the inlet of the air vents with a vacuum cleaner or with cotton. If there is dirt with oil, add some mild detergent and clean with a toothbrush.
  8. Do not use caustic impregnator to clean. It could damage the kitchen by chemical reaction.
  9. Do not use gasoline, thinners, brushes or polishing powder to clean the induction cooker.

Storage

  • Before putting away the hob, at the end of use, it must be checked that it has completely cooled down.
  • Avoid wrapping the power cord around the hob.
  • Store the hob in a cool and dry place
