IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

DANGER - As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts are electrically live even when the switch is off.

To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
1. Always unplug immediately after using. Do not use where the unit can fall Into or reach a tub, sink, toilet, or shower. Always store in a drawer after using.
2. Do not use while bathing.
3. Do not place or store hair dryer where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
4. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.
5. If unit falls into water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into water.

WARNING - To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire, or injury to persons:

1. This appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.
2. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on, or near children, invalids, or disabled persons.
3. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer.
4. Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, is damaged, or if it has been dropped into water or other liquid. Call our toll-free Technical Service number for information on examination and repair.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not wrap cord around unit.
6. Never block the air openings of the appliance, or place it on a soft surface such as a bed, couch, or towel where the air openings may be blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair, etc.
7. Never use while sleeping.

8. Never drop or insert any object into any opening in the unit.

9. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.

10. Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.
11. Do not direct hot air toward eyes or other heat sensitive areas.
12. The air outlet grille and surrounding area may be hot during and after use. Allow them to cool before handling.
13. Do not place appliance on any surface while it is operating.
14. While using the appliance, keep your hair away from the air intake grille.
15. Do not operate with a voltage converter.
16. Never use hair dryer for heating or drying clothing or footwear.
17. Always unplug unit before cleaning. Refer to cleaning section.

Electrical Requirements

The hair dryer requires a normal 110-120 volt electrical outlet.

To avoid an electrical overload, do not use a high wattage appliance on the same circuit as the hair dryer.

WARNING! Shock Hazard: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

This appliance contains a thermostat to prevent dryer from over-heating. If air intake grille and/or air outlet is blocked, dryer will automatically shut off. If this happens, set switch to OFF, unplug unit, and allow dryer to cool. Then clean air intake grille and air outlet. If dryer continues to turn off automatically, even with the grilles unobstructed, do not operate. Refer to the Product Warranty.

TO TEST ALCI PROTECTION DEVICE

This appliance is equipped with a polarized Appliance Leakage Circuit Interrupter plug (ALCI). This device will automatically shut hair dryer off under certain abnormal operating conditions, such as submersion of dryer in water.

The ALCI must be tested before each use of hair dryer.

1. Make sure ALCI is plugged in, then press Reset button.
2. Press Test button. Reset button should pop out, which indicates ALCI is working properly. NOTE: If Reset button does not pop out during test, or pops out before or during operation, or if hair dryer fails to function properly, do not operate hair dryer. Refer to Product Warranty.
3. Press Reset button again to reactivate the ALCI. You are now ready to operate the hair dryer.

TO DRY HAIR

1. Towel dry to remove excess water from hair.
2. Choose a setting that is most comfortable and that gives the best results:

MED and LOW are best for styling.

HIGH is best for drying hair.

WARNING! Burn Hazard. Do not direct a high volume of heat continuously to one area. This could overheat hair and/or scalp.

1. To use the removable concentrator (optional): attach concentrator to nozzle of unit. The concentrator provides extra airflow over a concentrated area of the hair/scalp.
2. Keep dryer a few inches from hair and in motion while using.
3. When finished, switch to OFF and unplug dryer.

TO USE RETRACTABLE CORD

1. Pull cord to desired length. Do not unwind cord beyond colored tape indicator on cord.
2. To store cord, press and hold Cord Release Button while guiding cord into storage area.

CAUTION: Hold plug while retracting cord. Do not let cord retract freely. Cord may jam on reel or loose cord may whip back and forth and could cause injury.

Care and Cleaning

WARNING Shock Hazard.

There are no user-serviceable parts in this appliance. All servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.

1. Unplug dryer before cleaning.
2. Clean external surfaces of dryer with a damp soft cloth or sponge. Do not use harsh cleansers, detergents or solvents.
3. Clean air intake and air outlet grilles with a vacuum cleaner.
4. Dry thoroughly before plugging in and using.

This Warranty Supersedes All Other Product Warranties

LIMITED WARRANTY

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase, except as noted below. During this period, we will repair or replace this product, at our option.

THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTY OR CONDITION, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WRITTEN OR ORAL INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY STATUTORY WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ANY LIABILITY IS EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID, AND ALL CLAIMS FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARE HEREBY EXCUSED.

There is no warranty with respect to parts subject to wear, including without limitation: disposable brew baskets, motor brushes, container and cutter assembly, clutches, bristle brushes, funnel, stainless steel cup, aglators, carafes, etc. This warranty extends only to the original purchaser and does not include any condition resulting from abuse, misuse, neglect, unauthorized repair, or use not in conformity with the printed directions. Always use this product in accordance with the printed directions. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other legal rights which vary from state to state, or province to province. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or special, incidental or consequential damages, so the foregoing limitations may not apply to you.
