Before use
Please read instructions carefully and completely before using the appliance.
Caution
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.
- Children younger than 8 years shall be kept away from the appliance and its mains cord.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- The kettle is only to be used with the stand provided.
- If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
- Never immerse the unit in water or other liquids.
- This appliance is designed for household use only and for processing normal household quantities.
- Do not use the appliance for any purpose other than the intended use described in this user manual. Any misuse may cause potential injury.
- Avoid spillage on the connector.
- Please clean all parts before first use or as required, following the instructions in the Care and Cleaning section.
- Before plugging into a socket, check whether your voltage corresponds with the voltage printed on the bottom of the appliance.
- Only use the kettle to heat water.
- Only operate the kettle on a dry, flat and fixed surface.
- Never let the cord hang down from the worktop. The cord length may be reduced by winding it up with the cord storage facility.
- The base, the kettle or the cord must never get in contact with hot surfaces (e.g. stove plates).
- In case the empty kettle is switched on accidentally, the overheating protection will cut it off automatically. In this case, allow the kettle 10 minutes to cool down before filling it with water.
- Do not open the lid while water is boiling.
- During operation, the kettle will get hot and is subject to residual heat after use. Therefore only use the handle to carry it. Always hold the kettle in an upright position, to avoid boiling water comes out.
- Model WK 500 only: Make sure not to operate too many other electric appliances when using the kettle.

Before first use
Before using the water kettle for the first time, fill it to the maximum level with fresh water, boil, then pour the water away. Repeat this procedure 3 times. After repeatedly boiling water it is normal
that some condensation may have formed on the base of the water kettle.
If this happens, just wipe dry with a cloth.
Setting into operation
1a Fill the kettle through the spout with the lid closed, or 1b press the lid release button (c), open the lid, fill with water and close the lid again (the kettle will not work with the lid open). 2 Place the kettle on the dry base and plug in the base. 3 Press the on/off switch (d), the pilot light will come on (do not open the lid when the kettle is switched on). 4 When the water has boiled, the kettle automatically switches off.
You may also stop the heating procedure at any time by pressing the on/off switch (d).
- Empty the water kettle after each use.
Note: If you have not used the water kettle for more than 2 days, rinse it with fresh water.
Automatic cut-off feature
The kettle switches off when .. the water has boiled, it contains no water (in case of accidental switching o the lid is opened, it is taken off the base.
If the scale filter is not installed, the automatic cut-off will be delayed.
Cleaning
Before cleaning, unplug the base.
Kettle or base must never be immersed in water. Clean the outside of the kettle with a damp cloth, the inner part can be cleaned by means of a brush. The removable scale filter is dishwasherproof.
Descaling
- To extend the kettle's lifetime and save energy, we recommend the following descending frequency:
- Every 3 months in case of normal use (up to 5 times a day) with low to medium water hardness.
- Every month in case of more frequent usage or with hard water.
- The water hardness you can check with your local water supplier.
- Boil 0.8 l water in the kettle.
- Important: Switch off the kettle and add 0.4 I household vinegar (4% acid). Do not boil the contents as it may cause spilling being a danger of scalding.
- Let the mix of water and vinegar sit in the kettle overnight.
- Empty the kettle and rinse the inside thoroughly with fresh water. Fill the kettle with fresh water and boil it.
- Empty the kettle and rinse it again with fresh water.
- If the kettle still contains scale, repeat this procedure.
- To remove any scale from the scale filter, you may soak it in diluted vinegar.

Before using the appliance, please read the instructions carefully and completely.
Caution!
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. - This appliance is not intended for children. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be performed by children, unless they are older than 8 years and supervised by an adult. - The appliance and its cord should be kept out of reach of children under 8 years. To prevent hazardous situations, if the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person. - The hand blender is intended for use only with the base supplied. - If the hand blender is overfilled, hot liquid may spill out. - Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. - This appliance is intended exclusively for domestic use, for processing food in quantities normal for a household. - Use of the appliance for purposes other than those specified in this manual is strictly prohibited. Any misuse may result in injury. - Take precautions to avoid splashing onto the base. Before first use, clean all parts properly as described in the section “Care and Cleaning”.

- The hand blender is intended exclusively for heating water.
- Operation of the hand blender is only permitted on a dry, flat, stable surface.
- During use, make sure the cord is not below the level of the countertop. The cord length can be shortened by winding it in the cord storage compartment.
- The base, hand blender, and cord must not come into contact with hot surfaces (e.g., hot plates). In case of accidental switching on of the empty hand blender, the overheat protection will automatically switch off the appliance. In this case, let the hand blender cool down for 10 minutes before filling it with water. Do not open the lid while water is boiling.
- During operation, the hand blender heats up and retains residual heat after use. Therefore, hold it only by the handle. Always keep the hand blender in a vertical position to prevent splashing of boiling water. Only for model WK 500. When using the hand blender, make sure that not too many other electrical appliances are connected to the same socket.

Before first use, fill the kettle with fresh water to the maximum level, boil it, and then pour out the water. Repeat this procedure 3 times. Repeat this procedure once more. After several boils, condensation may form on the base of the kettle. In this case, simply wipe the base with a dry cloth.
How to use the kettle

Manufacturing date
To find out the production date, look at the product's serial number (near the table with the series designation). The first digit indicates the last digit of the year of manufacture. The next two digits are the calendar week. The last two digits indicate the edition (automatically counted since 1992).
Example: 30421 - the product was released in 2013 (in week 4).
Transport conditions: During transport, do not drop or subject to excessive vibration.
