When using this or any other electrical appliance, always follow these basic safety precautions, especially when children are present.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
⚠ WARNING-To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, serious personal injury and property damage please note the following:
- This appliance is not intended for use by children. Keep the appliance out of reach of children and pets. Extra caution is necessary when using this appliance near children.
- Always ensure the product is unplugged from the electrical outlet and allowed to cool before assembling, disassembling, relocating, or cleaning it.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation. Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet when not in use.
- This appliance generates heat; only operate this appliance on heat-resistant surfaces.
- Improper use of this appliance can result in property damage or personal injury.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs when handling product. Use protective oven mitts or gloves when opening the Lid or handling to avoid burns or personal injury.
- Do not immerse or expose the Base, Power Cord, or Plug of this appliance in water or other liquids.
- This appliance generates heat and steam during use. Please take the proper precautions to avoid burns, fire, and personal or property damage.
- Do not use attachments not recommended or sold by the Manufacturer.
- Do not place appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated oven, or other heated surfaces.
- Use extreme caution when moving an appliance containing food.
- Use the product in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6 inches of space on all sides of the product to allow adequate air circulation.
- Use appliance on a table or sturdy flat surface. Keep the appliance away from curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dishtowels, or other flammable materials.
- Do not plug or unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet with a wet hand.
- This appliance is intended solely for non-commercial, non-industrial, household use in cooking of food for human consumption; do not use the product outdoors.
- Do not operate the appliance empty.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter where it may be tripped over or pulled.
- Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces.
- Do not operate the appliance if it has a damaged power cord or plug, if wires are exposed, if it malfunctions, if it is dropped or damaged, or if the motor housing is dropped in or exposed to water.
- This appliance has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to examine or repair this appliance yourself. Please review the Warranty Policy on Page 7.
- Do not put any stress on the power cord where it connects to the appliance, as the power cord could fray and break.
- This appliance does not have an “OFF” feature, to shut off please disconnect from power supply.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord is not recommended for use with this product, but if one must be used:
- The marked electrical rating must be at least as great as that of the product.
- If the product is of a 3-prong grounding type, the extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
- Arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over or pulled.

WARNING: This product is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other blade) to reduce the risk of electrical shock. This is a safety feature. The plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug into the electrical outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use the plug with an extension cord unless you can fully insert the plug into the extension cord. Do not alter the plug. Do not attempt to defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.

Attention: During the first use the heating element undergoes a minor chemical reaction that may result in a slight odor and/or minor smoking. It quickly goes away.
WARNING: Avoid contact with hot parts.
- Place your Arepa Maker on a sturdy and clean flat surface.
- You can lightly coat the non-stick cooking plates with a small amount of vegetable oil. This helps to prolong the life of your non-stick.
- Plug the product into a standard AC electrical outlet and preheat the appliance by closing the lid and turning the control dial to its maximum setting.
- When the Power is on, the red power light will come on. Preheat your appliance for a minimum of 7 minutes. The Green light indicates the appliance is ready to cook. *While the appliance preheats, you can prepare your dough.
- Once appliance has preheated, Green light has turned on, raise the lid using an oven mitt to prevent any burns. Roll dough into portions and place one (1) in each non-stick cavity.
CAUTION: Do not overfill the product or operate it when empty. - Close the lid using the oven mitt and secure lock clasp in position.
NOTE: Steam may be released from the appliance during cooking. Only handle the appliance using kitchen gloves to avoid burns. -
Cooking time generally ranges from 6-9 minutes.

Once they have finished cooking raise the lid and remove the arepas using a plastic or wooden spoon, do not use metal utensils as they may scratch and damage the surface.
- If you are cooking more than one batch of arepas, after the first batch lower the lid to maintain the heat level until its ready to cook the next batch.
- As soon as you are finished cooking unplug the appliance and allow it to cool.
Cleaning Your Arepa Maker:
WARNING: Always unplug the product and allow it to cool before cleaning or storing it. NOTICE: Never immerse the Arepa Maker, plug or cord in water or any other liquid.
- Disconnect the Arepa Maker from the electrical outlet. Make sure the appliance is completely cooled before handling.
- Clean the upper and lower non-stick plates using a damp nonabrasive cloth.
- Exterior of Arepa Maker can be cleaned with a damp cloth as well. Dry all parts thoroughly before storing or using again.
- Wrap the cord in the cord storage below the appliance. Store in a cool, dry place. Away from reach of children.
RECIPE IDEAS
Recipe:
• 1 2/3 cups Warm Water
- 1 tsp. Salt
• 12 oz. (1 ½ cups) Corn Meal Flour
Pour water in a bowl and add a dash of salt. Slowly add flour to the water and knead until dough is formed. Use the palms of your hands to form round and flat pieces of dough a bit smaller than the circle arepa molds of the arepa maker. Roughly 1 inch thick by 3 inches across. Lightly oil the plates prior to placing dough. Adjust the temperature from low to high for soft to crispy arepas. For even toastier arepas keep them in the machine and monitor.
Delicious Arepa Recipes Fillings:
- Chicken and Avocado \~ Instructions: Cook (preseason salt/pepper) chicken in chicken broth over medium heat for 15 min. In a separate pan cook onion and garlic for 1-3 min. Shred the chicken and pour into pan and stir for 5 min. In a fresh bowl add avocado, green peas, the cooked chicken and mayo and add salt and pepper. Serve with Arepa and enjoy!
• 300 gr chicken (white or dark)
• 4 cups of Chicken Broth
• 1 Avacado cut as cubes
- 1 / 2 Onion
- 1 garlic clove
• 4 tbsp light Mayonnaise or low fat Mayonnaise
- Salt and Pepper
- Black Beans and Cheese \~ Instructions: In a big pot add some oil and all the ingredients except for the black beans. Cook until the onion is translucent. Add the black beens and let simmer for 15 minutes. Serve with Arepa and lots of cheese.
• 400 gr black beans (1 can)
- 12 onion chopped (thinly)
- 14 Red Pepper cut small cubes
- 1 Garlic clove
• 1 tbsp Coriander (fresh)
- 1 tsp Salt
• 1 tbsp Oil (Olive Oil or any of your liking)
• 100 gr Jack or Mozzarella (shredded)
- Tuna \~ Instructions: Add all ingredients into a bowl and stir until it has the consistency of a pâté. Serve with Arepa and enjoy!
• 220 gr Fresh Tuna or canned
- 12 Avacado cut into slices or cubes
• 1 tbsp cream cheese
- 12 Onion chopped
• 6-8 Cherry tomatoes chopped
- 12 Fresh Lime Juice
- Salt and Pepper to taste

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us and our returning a product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater value. This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse.
THIS WARRANTY EXTENDS ONLY TO THE ORIGINAL CONSUMER PURCHASER. KEEP THE ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT, AS PROOF OF PURCHASE IS REQUIRED TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM.
This warranty is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use or subjected to any voltage and waveform other than what is specified on the rating label (E.G., 120V\~60Hz). We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential damages caused by breach of express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to the amount of the purchase price. Every implied warranty, including any statutory warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by law, in which case such warranty or condition is limited to the duration of this written warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other legal rights that vary depending on where you live. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or special, incidental, or consequential damages, so the foregoing limitations may not apply to you. To make a warranty claim do not return this appliance to the store.
