Attention: First use may cause a slight odor or small smoking upon heating, it is normal. This is a result of the heating element chemical reaction. It quickly goes away.
MANUAL BREWING:
CAUTION: Avoid contact with hot parts.
For best results, use and measure medium ground coffee with a tablespoon (included).
- Lift the lid to the open position.
- Fill the reusable filter with appropriate amount of medium ground coffee. (See chart) Paper filters may be used in place of the included reusable filter. Accepts #4 Paper Cone Filters with a Flat Bottom.
- Gently shake the reusable filter side to side to level grounds and place the reusable filter into the filter holder. Place inside the coffee maker.

Use the Glass Carafe to pour fresh, cold water into the water reservoir. Do not fill past the "Max" line. Close the lid and place the empty Glass Carafe onto the warming plate.
Note: Make sure the Glass Carafe is fully placed on the warming plate or the water and the grounds will overflow from the filter basket. This can cause injury and damage to property. The amount of coffee brewed will always be less than the amount of water poured in the water reservoir due to absorption by the coffee grounds. -
Press the 'ON/OFF' button once to start. The 'MIN' indicator light will begin to flash when brewing begins.
*NOTE: To Cancel press ON/OFF again.
- The keep warm function will keep your coffee hot for a couple hours before automatically shutting off.
NOTE: This coffee maker has a Pause and Serve feature that allows you to sneak a cup of coffee from the Glass Carafe. This usually allows you to remove the Glass Carafe for about 30 seconds.
