  6. When filling, do not exceed the "Max" line to prevent water from overflowing the carafe.

Cleaning Your Coffee Maker:

WARNING: Always unplug the product and allow it to cool before cleaning or storing.

NOTICE: To avoid damaging the product, do not pour cold water into the Glass Carafe while it is still hot or warm. Wait until cool, before pouring cold water in the Glass Carafe.

  • Once cold, empty the cooled coffee grounds along with the paper filter to the waste bin.
  • Carafe and removable filter can be washed under warm running water and mild soapy cloth.
  • Wipe the surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Never submerge the Coffee Maker.
  • Dry all parts thoroughly before storing or using again.

Glass Carafe Special Instructions:

  • This Glass Carafe is designed for use only with your Brentwood Coffee Maker and should never be used on a range stove top, oven, or microwave of any kind.
  • DO NOT set a HOT glass carafe on a wet or cold surface.
  • DO NOT clean the glass carafe with abrasive cleaners, steel wool pads or other abrasive materials.
  • DO NOT place glass carafe in the dishwasher.
  • DO NOT use a cracked glass carafe or a glass carafe with a loose or weakened handle.
  • Discard the glass carafe immediately, if it is ever boiled dry.

  • Protect the glass carafe from sharp blows, scratches, or rough handling.
    • DO NOT disassemble the carafe.

Descaling Your Carafe:

WARNING: Always unplug the product before any cleaning. Dry all parts after every use. Descale your carafe regularly to avoid tougher stains.

Descaling is the removal of mineral deposits from glass and stainless steel. All water contains minerals including purified and filtered water. After your carafe's first use you may see the first signs of deposits which may be white to reddish brown in color. These stains are not rust nor are they toxic.

Note: Reheating coffee in your carafe may discolor or stain the surface of the carafe.

To descale your carafe, fill a carafe full of water, add a small amount of white vinegar, and boil. Unplug the carafe and allow the solution to sit for an hour. For darker stains leave overnight. This will remove most deposits that have built up from normal use. Rinse out solution, add fresh water, and run again. Allow to cool, follow with thorough cleaning, and dry before next use.
