Using Your Turkish Coffee Maker:

WARNING: Hot surfaces.

  1. Place the power base on a clean, flat surface.
  2. When filling with water, remove your appliance from its power base.
  3. According to the number of cups of coffee (for 3-4 persons, max-10 oz.), put a sufficient amount of cold water, Turkish coffee, and sugar into your Turkish Coffee Maker.
  4. Place the appliance onto the power base and move the switch to ON "O".
  5. During the operation time, mix your coffee continuously. You can use a metal spoon when you are mixing.
  6. When the coffee starts to bloat out, turn off the appliance and pour a little coffee into the cups (for foam).
  7. Place your appliance back onto the power base unit and restart the coffee maker; then pour the coffee into the cups.

NOTE: When there is no water in the coffee pot or if the water runs out during use, the boil-dry protection automatically switches off the heating element. Should this happen, turn the power switch off, unplug the unit, and allow it to cool before continue using or storing.

CAUTION: Do not overfill the appliance or operate it when empty.

Attention: First use may cause a slight odor or small smoking upon heating, it is normal. This is a result of the heating element chemical reaction. It quickly goes away.

Cleaning Your Turkish Coffee Maker:

WARNING: Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning or storing it.

NOTICE: Never immerse the motor base, plug, or cord in water or any other liquid.

  • Before cleaning turn off the on/off switch located on your coffee maker, unplug it from the outlet, and allow it to cool down.
  • It is recommended to rinse parts immediately after use to make cleaning easier.
  • Discharge the water and remaining coffee from the appliance and wipe the outside of it thoroughly with a dry or damp cloth.
  • NEVER immerse the power base unit and the body into water, nor wash them in a dishwasher.
  • Avoid using abrasive and chemical cleaning agents (liquid bleach, hydrochloric acid, etc.) in cleaning any accessories of the appliance excepting of special cleaners.
  • Store product in a cool, dry place, away from the reach of children.

Descaling Your Pot:

WARNING: Always unplug the product before any cleaning. Dry all parts after every use. Descale your pot regularly to avoid tougher stains.

Descaling:

Descaling is the removal of mineral deposits from stainless steel. All water contains minerals including purified and filtered water. After your first use, you may see the first signs of deposits which may be white to reddish brown in color. These stains are not rust nor are they toxic.

Note: Reheating coffee in your pot may discolor or stain the stainless-steel surface at the base of the pot.

To descale your pot, fill the pot full of water, add a small amount of white vinegar, and boil. Unplug the pot and allow the solution to sit for an hour. For darker stains leave overnight. This will remove most deposits that have built up from normal use. Rinse out solution, add fresh water, and boil again. Allow to cool, follow with thorough cleaning, and dry before next use.
