Frequently Asked Questions - JB-191BL Brentwood

How to use the Brentwood JB-191BL personal blender?
Place the motorized base on a flat surface. Put ingredients into the glass cup (up to 2.5 cm from the rim, not exceeding the MAX line). Screw the blade assembly clockwise. Turn the cup over and insert it into the base by turning clockwise to lock. Plug the appliance into a 120 V outlet. Hold down the green lever to pulse blend. Release to stop, then unplug before unscrewing.
What to do if the blender does not work?
Check that the cup is properly installed and locked on the base. The blender has a safety feature that prevents operation if the cup is not in place. Also ensure the appliance is plugged into a functioning power outlet and that you are holding the lever down during use.
Can I blend hot liquids with this blender?
No, never blend hot liquids. The glass container could break and hot splashes could cause burns. Wait for liquids to cool before blending.
Can I crush ice with the JB-191BL?
Yes, but make sure to add at least 240 ml (1 cup) of liquid before adding ice cubes or frozen fruits. Do not overload the cup and do not blend ice alone, as this could damage the appliance.
How to clean the blender after use?
Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Wash the cup, blade assembly, and lid with warm soapy water using a non-abrasive sponge. Never immerse the motorized base in water; wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Dry all parts before storing.
Is the glass container dishwasher safe?
The manual does not specify if the container is dishwasher safe. To preserve its longevity, it is recommended to hand wash with soapy water.
What is the maximum capacity of the cup?
The cup has a capacity of 400 ml (14 oz). Do not exceed the MAX line to avoid overflow during blending.
Can I use an extension cord with this blender?
Using an extension cord is not recommended. If you must use one, ensure its power rating is at least equal to the appliance's and that it is a 3-wire cord if the appliance cord is grounded. Install it to avoid tripping hazards.
How to replace the blade assembly?
The blade assembly is a consumable part. To replace it, unscrew it from the cup counterclockwise and screw on a new assembly clockwise. Make sure to tighten it well. Contact customer service for compatible replacement parts.
Can the blender be used to grind grains or make powders?
This blender is designed for blending soft foods, fruits, vegetables, and liquids. It is not suitable for grinding dry grains or powdered spices. Improper use could damage the blades or motor.
