How to reset the Synology TC500 camera?

For a warm reboot, press the RESET button for 4 seconds. This resets the administrator credentials and network settings. For a cold factory reset, hold the button for 10 seconds. All settings return to default values, but the firmware remains unchanged.

What does the solid blue LED indicator on the camera mean?

A solid blue light indicates the system is ready and connected to a Synology NAS/NVR. If it blinks slowly, the camera is ready but not connected. Rapid blinking signals startup or reset.

What type of power supply is compatible with the TC500?

The camera accepts two power sources: a PoE (Power over Ethernet) 802.3af switch providing 48V DC via the RJ-45 cable, or a 12V/1A AC adapter (∅2.1 mm connector). The DC adapter is not included in the package.

How to install the camera outdoors?

Use the provided RJ-45 connector cover to protect the connection. Thread the Ethernet cable through the cover, crimp the connector, tighten the cap, and wrap everything with waterproof tape for a tight seal.

Which microSD card to use and how to format it?

Use a Class 10 (U1/V10) microSDHC/SDXC card with a write speed ≥10 MB/s, up to 128 GB (tested). The file system must be exFAT. Insert the card into the slot located under the camera.

How to access the camera's RTSP stream?

The RTSP stream is accessible via URL: rtsp://[IP address]/[stream number] (e.g., rtsp://192.168.0.50/1). Authentication is required. First configure the camera via the web interface or Surveillance Station.

Is the camera weatherproof and vandal-resistant?

Yes, the TC500 features IP67 certification (dust and watertight) and IK10 (impact and vandal resistance). It can be used outdoors.

What to do if I forget my administrator password?

Perform a warm reboot (press RESET for 4 seconds). The administrator credentials are reset to default (admin/admin). You will need to reconfigure the camera.

How to clean the camera lens?

First disconnect the power. Use a soft, damp (non-abrasive) cloth to gently wipe the surface. Never use aerosol cleaners or chemicals.

What are the dimensions and weight of the camera?

The camera has a diameter of 97 mm and a height of 88 mm (∅3.82 x 3.46 inches). It weighs 387 g (0.85 lb). The package includes the main unit and an RJ-45 connector cover.
