Frequently Asked Questions - 981406 Wetelux

How to install the Wetelux 981406 solar light?
Place the light in a sunny location, preferably without shade. Remove any protective film from the solar panel. The light turns on automatically at dusk if the battery is charged.
What type of battery should be used to replace the old one?
Use a rechargeable NiMH battery type HR06 (AA) with a voltage of 1.2 V and a capacity of 300 mAh. Observe the polarity indicated in the compartment.
How long does it take to fully charge the battery?
Charging time depends on sunlight. On a sunny day, the battery can be charged in 6 to 8 hours. In winter or cloudy weather, charging may take longer.
Is the solar lamp waterproof?
The lamp is weather-resistant, but it should not be immersed in water or exposed to high humidity. Avoid leaving it in heavy rain for extended periods.
Why doesn't my solar lamp turn on at night?
Check that the battery is properly inserted and fully charged. Make sure the solar panel is not dirty or obstructed. If the lamp remains off, replace the battery with a new one.
Can I use this lamp as main lighting?
No, this lamp is designed for decorative lighting in the garden or on the terrace. It is not suitable as a main light source for very dark areas.
How to clean the solar lamp?
Clean the housing with a slightly damp cloth. If necessary, add a little mild dish soap. Do not use harsh or abrasive chemicals. Do not immerse the lamp.
What to do in winter or if I don't use the lamp for a long time?
Clean the lamp, remove the battery, and store it in a dry, frost-free place. This prevents damage to the battery and lamp. Cold temperatures reduce battery life.
How to change the lamp's battery?
Unscrew or unclip the lamp head as shown in the manual diagram. Open the battery compartment, replace the used battery with a new one (NiMH AA 1.2 V 300 mAh) respecting polarity, then close.
What is the lifespan of the LEDs?
LEDs have a long lifespan, typically several tens of thousands of hours. If an LED stops working, the lamp can still be used, but lighting will be reduced.

Operation

Intended Use

The product is used as a decorative solar lamp for gardens or terraces. The solar panel integrated in the device charges the rechargeable battery during the hours of daylight. The solar light switches on the light automatically when darkness falls, and the rechargeable battery in the device provides the energy for the light. During the day, the solar light switches itself off automatically.

The solar light is designed for domestic use, and is not for use in commercial premises. Any use other than that described above is not permitted.

Assembling and Setting up

  • The solar light is designed to resist the elements and is thus protected against dampness; it should not, however, be directly subjected to wetness or placed directly in water.
  • If the solar panel has been covered by a protective foil for protection during transit, remove it.

Operation

When it is bright, the battery of the lamp is charged by the solar cell; when it is dark, the LED lights up as long as the battery is supplying power.

Using the Solar Lamp

  • The performance of the solar lamp varies according to the season, and the duration and intensity of the sunlight reaching it.
  • In long periods of insufficient sunshine, the rechargeable battery may not charge up sufficiently to allow the lamp to illuminate for a longer length of time. The battery will then take in less energy during the day than they expend at night. This inevitably results in a reduction in the length of time that the light will work for. This could also mean that the battery run completely flat and become damaged as a result.
  • Take care that the solar panel does not become dirty and that it is kept free of snow and ice in winter. Otherwise, the performance of the solar panel could be affected. Cold temperatures affect the service life of the battery adversely. If you do not need the solar light for a long time, e.g. in winter, it should be cleaned and stored in a dry, frost-free room. Remove the battery from the solar light to avoid damage to the battery or the solar light.

Replacing the Battery

Release the lamp head as shown in the diagram and open the battery compartment as shown in the illustration and replace the NiMH, AA, 1,2 V, 300 mAh battery with a new one of the same type and the same Power. Pay attention to the correct polarity, polarity symbols are located in the battery compartment.

Cleaning

  • Wipe the housing of the device with a lightly moistened cloth. Use detergent as needed. Do not immerse the device in water or any other liquid.
  • Do not clean the device with aggressive chemicals or abrasives in order not to damage the surfaces.
