How to install the EFL200W40V1 floodlight?

First, turn off the power at the circuit breaker. Use the mounting bracket to drill holes, fix the bracket with screws and wall plugs. Connect the power cable to the terminal block (N=blue, E=yellow/green, L=brown). Tilt the device to the desired position and tighten the hinges. Maintain a distance of at least 20 cm above and 30 cm on the sides, and 1 m between the light output and the illuminated surface.

Can the light source be replaced?

No, the light source is not replaceable. When it reaches the end of its lifetime (about 50,000 h), the entire unit must be replaced.

What is the protection rating of this floodlight?

The protection rating is IP65, which means it is protected against water jets and dust. Suitable for outdoor use.

Can the light intensity be adjusted?

No, the light intensity is not adjustable. The floodlight operates at full power.

What is the warranty for this product?

The warranty is 24 months from the date of purchase for consumer products (EU). It covers manufacturing and material defects. Damages due to improper use or modification are not covered.

How to clean the floodlight?

Before cleaning, turn off and unplug the device. Use a damp, lint-free cloth. Never use alcohol or solvent. Dry all parts thoroughly.

What power supply is recommended?

The recommended power supply is the Mean Well ELG-200-48A. The input voltage is 100-240 V~, 50/60 Hz.

Is this floodlight suitable for outdoor installation?

Yes, thanks to the IP65 rating and IK08 impact resistance, it is designed for outdoor use. Preferably install it under a roof, sheltered from weather and direct sunlight.

What is the beam angle and can it be changed?

The standard beam angle is 90°. It can be changed by replacing the lenses (ref. EFLV1L1, EFLV1L2, EFLV1L3). Visit www.velleman.eu for more information.

What to do if the power cable is damaged?

If the flexible cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent. Do not use the device with a damaged cable.

1. Introduction

2. Safety Instructions

Read and understand this manual and all safety signs before using this appliance.

CAUTION - Risk of electric shock.

This appliance is not suitable for dimming.

Minimum distance from lighted objects.

Replace any damaged or cracked protection shield screens.

• This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
• If the external flexible cable or cord of this luminaire is damaged, it shall be replaced by a special cord or cord exclusively available from the manufacturer or his service agent.
• Non replaceable light source. The light source in this luminaire is not replaceable. When the light source reaches its end of life the whole luminaire shall be replaced.
• Make sure that the power wiring comes from a circuit with a suitable fuse or circuit breaker.
• Choking hazard! Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of properly and are not within reach of babies and young children.

• Electric shock caused by high voltages inside. Never remove any covers. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Do not use the appliance if covers, protectors or optical components are missing or damaged.

• Electric shock caused by short-circuit. Do not modify the mains cable or the plug. Failure to do so could result in electric shock/death or fire. If in doubt, seek advice from a registered electrician.
  • Eye damage caused by high light intensity. Never look directly into the light source.

• Risk of epileptic shock. Strobe lighting can trigger seizures in photosensitive epilepsy. Sensitive persons should avoid looking at strobe lights.
• Risk of fire. Do not cover the appliance nor any ventilation slots. Do not place the appliance near any direct heat source. Keep the appliance away from naked flames.

3. General Guidelines

• Refer to the Velleman ® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.
• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
• Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.
• Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
• Nor Velleman nv nor its dealers can be held responsible for any damage (extraordinary, incidental or indirect) – of any nature (financial, physical...) arising from the possession, use or failure of this product.
• Keep this manual for future reference.

4. Installation

WARNING!

• Some countries may require installation of this appliance by a qualified electrician. Please check the laws and requirements in your country. If the housing is of aluminium, consult with an electrician about proper wiring methods.
• Before proceeding installation, switch off the power to the lighting circuit at the circuit breaker or fuse box to avoid electrical shocks.

Guidelines

• The construction to which the appliance is attached should be able to support 4 times the weight of the appliance for one hour without deformation.
• Never stand directly below the appliance when it is being mounted, removed or serviced. Have a qualified technician check the appliance once a year and once before you bring it into service.
• Overhead mounting requires extensive experience: calculating workload limits, determining the installation material to be used... Have the material and the appliance itself checked regularly. Do not attempt to install the appliance yourself if you lack these qualifications as improper installation may result in serious injuries.

Distances

• Keep at least 20 cm distance at the top and 30 cm on either side.
• Respect a minimum distance of 1 m between the appliance's light output and any illuminated surface.

Choosing an Appropriate Location

• Please avoid installing the appliance upside-down in order to ensure its watertightness.
• The appliance should be fixed to a stable outdoor wall made of a non-flammable material approximately between 0.5-3.0 m above the ground and at an angle of ± 60°, preferably in a location under eaves where the unit is protected from the elements and shielded from direct sunlight.
• Do not install the appliance close to air conditioning vents, radiators, etc.

Mounting and Connection

1. This appliance does not have a built-in device to disconnect it from the electric mains. Make sure to electrically isolate the luminaire before installation or maintenance activities are performed.
2. Use the mounting bracket to determine the location of the mounting holes.
3. Drill the holes and secure the bracket using screws and wall plugs.
4. Connect the power cable to the screw terminal. Make sure there is no strain on the cable; leave sufficient slack.

1. Tilt the lamp in the desired angle and tighten the hinges.

Changing the Lenses

Other lenses are available if you want to change the beam angle. To open the appliance, insert a screwdriver into the clamp hole and press down to unlock.

Unscrew the lenses and install the new ones.

To close, press the clamp perpendicular to the appliance until it locks over the protection shield screen.

5. Care and Maintenance

Care

- This appliance does not need any particular maintenance. However, regularly check the mounting installation and external flexible cable or cord. Do not use the appliance if there is visible damage.

Cleaning

• Regularly clean the protection shield screens to optimize the light output.
• The frequency of cleaning depends on the operating environment: wet, smoky or particularly dirty surroundings can cause more accumulation of dirt on the optics of the appliance.
• Before cleaning, switch off the appliance and disconnect from the mains. Use a lint-free damp cloth for cleaning. Never use solvents or alcohol for cleaning. Always dry the parts carefully.

Storage

- Store the appliance in its original package in a dry and clean place.

In order to ensure the quality, our products regularly go through an extra quality check, both by an internal quality department and by specialized external organisations. If, all precautionary measures notwithstanding, problems should occur, please make appeal to our warranty (see guarantee conditions).

General Warranty Conditions Concerning Consumer Products (for EU):

- All consumer products are subject to a 24-month warranty on production flaws and defective material as from the original date of purchase.

- Velleman® can decide to replace an article with an equivalent article, or to refund the retail value totally or partially when the complaint is valid and a free repair or replacement of the article is impossible, or if the expenses are out of proportion.

You will be delivered a replacing article or a refund at the value of 100% of the purchase price in case of a flaw occurred in the first year after the date of purchase and delivery, or a replacing article at 50% of the purchase price or a refund at the value of 50% of the retail value in case of a flaw occurred in the second year after the date of purchase and delivery.

• Not covered by warranty:

- all direct or indirect damage caused after delivery to the article (e.g. by oxidation, shocks, falls, dust, dirt, humidity...), and by the article, as well as its contents (e.g. data loss), compensation for loss of profits;

- consumable goods, parts or accessories that are subject to an aging process during normal use, such as batteries (rechargeable, non-rechargeable, built-in or replaceable), lamps, rubber parts, drive belts... (unlimited list);

- flaws resulting from fire, water damage, lightning, accident, natural disaster, etc....;

- flaws caused deliberately, negligently or resulting from improper handling, negligent maintenance, abusive use or use contrary to the manufacturer's instructions;

- damage caused by a commercial, professional or collective use of the article (the warranty validity will be reduced to six (6) months when the article is used professionally);

- damage resulting from an inappropriate packing and shipping of the article; - all damage caused by modification, repair or alteration performed by a third party without written permission by Velleman®.

- Articles to be repaired must be delivered to your Velleman® dealer, solidly packed (preferably in the original packaging), and be completed with the original receipt of purchase and a clear flaw description.

- Hint: In order to save on cost and time, please reread the manual and check if the flaw is caused by obvious causes prior to presenting the article for repair. Note that returning a non-defective article can also involve handling costs.

• Repairs occurring after warranty expiration are subject to shipping costs.

- The above conditions are without prejudice to all commercial warranties. The above enumeration is subject to modification according to the article (see article's manual).
