Frequently Asked Questions - React Goggle SCOTT

How to change the screen of the SCOTT React mask?
Screen change must be done at room temperature. For standard frames (except 1301, 1501, 2301), remove the screen by pulling the nasal part outward, then insert the new screen by pressing on the nasal part and clipping the edges. Make sure all tabs are properly inserted. For model 2301, locking is done with the cursor in the lower position.
How to clean my SCOTT React mask?
Use warm water and a little mild soap. Do not rub the wet screen; shake it to remove droplets then dab with a soft, clean cloth. Avoid paper tissues and solvents. The hydrophilic coating can be damaged by aggressive wiping.
Which screen category to choose for different conditions?
The categories range from S0 (clear, 80-100% transmission) suitable for dark or foggy conditions, to S4 (very dark, 3-8%) for very strong sunlight. S3 screens (Solar Blocker) are for sunny conditions, S2 (Enhancer) for medium light, and S1 (Illuminator) for low light. Light Sensitive screens adapt automatically.
How to adjust the mask to my face?
Place the mask on your face and fasten the strap around your head or helmet. Use the sliders to tighten or loosen the strap. The FIT SYSTEM with 4 positions allows adjusting the seal: rotate the two points at the bottom of the mask. Both sides must be adjusted identically.
Is the SCOTT React mask compatible with a helmet?
Yes, the mask strap can be attached around a ski or snowboard helmet. Make sure the strap is well adjusted to hold the mask in place without pressure points.
What is the lifespan of a SCOTT React mask?
SCOTT recommends replacing your product 3 to 5 years after purchase, depending on use. Regularly inspect the screen, strap and frame. If cracks or scratches appear, replace the part or the mask.
Can I use the SCOTT React mask for cycling?
No, this mask is designed only for winter sports like skiing and snowboarding. It is not suitable for cycling, driving on roads, or observing the sun directly.
How do I know if my screen is damaged?
Visually check: the screen must not be split, scratched or deformed. The frame must not have cracks. If you notice damage, immediately replace the defective part with an original SCOTT part.
Where can I buy replacement screens for my SCOTT React?
Replacement screens are available at SCOTT specialized retailers. Check the model code printed inside the frame (e.g. 2301 for React) to order the corresponding screen.
Does the SCOTT React mask protect against impacts?
It protects against snow, wind, dust and UV, but is not designed to withstand violent impacts from hard or sharp objects. No mask can guarantee total protection against all impacts.

VII. INSTRUCTIONS

Wear and tear, dirt or any kind of damage may compromise the effectiveness of the equipment. Contamination with foreign substances and improper care can seriously compromise the effectiveness of your equipment and reduce its performance.

A. CLEANING AND CARE

Depending on the model, the lenses have a hydrophilic coating, which prevents fogging-up. It is therefore important to proceed in accordance with the following directions:

1- In the event of slight soiling, the goggles can be cleaned sufficiently using the storage bag or a damp cloth.
2- In the event of heavy soiling, the goggles can be cleaned under running water and with a little soap. Please make sure that the wet lens is not wiped but that the water is merely shaken off and dabbed with a soft, clean cloth. Wiping can destroy the anti-fog coating. This can also occur if paper towels are used.
3- Particular care should be taken with mirrored lenses. Please ensure that there are no dust particles on the lens or the cleaning cloth when cleaning. 4- We strongly advise against the use of solvents.
5- Do not wash SCOTT goggles in the washing machine.

B. TRANSPORTATION & STORAGE

Whenever possible please store and transport your SCOTT goggles in the bag or box designed for this purpose. Only by doing so can you be certain that your goggle lens will remain undamaged for as long as possible. Please also note that the goggles should not be stored in places where they may be subjected to high levels of radiated heat. Storage in temperatures above 50°C is not recommended!

C. CHECKING OF WEAR AND TEAR

Inspect the goggles before the beginning of a season or after a fall to ensure the goggles are still intact. The lens must not be split, the strap must be securely fastened to the frame and the frame should not have any cracks. In the event that any such damage is found, the defective part must be replaced. Only original SCOTT spare parts may be used. Scratched or damaged lenses have to be replaced and must not be used again.

D. DISPOSAL

Dispose of the products in the domestic waste. Do not tamper or incinerate the product. This may lead to potential hazards.

VIII. WARNING

ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS

A screw driver or loose change will be needed to adjust the pivot points.

The fit system is a one time adjustment designed to increase seal and comfort against the face. Each of the 4 positions represents a different unique fit. This is achieved by rotating two pivot points located at the bottom side of the goggles. The factory setting for the FIT SYSTEM is position 1.

While there is not a recommended setting it is important to keep each pivot point in the same position on each side of the goggles. For example if you move a pivot point over to position 2 the second pivot should also move to position 2. Now find the position that best suits you, set it and get riding.
