Frequently Asked Questions - SR2363Z PANASONIC

How to measure the amount of rice and water?
Use the provided measuring cup (approx. 180 ml). Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. Place the rice in the cooking pan, then add water up to the mark corresponding to the amount of rice (e.g., 12 cups = mark 12). Do not use hot water.
Why is my rice too hard or not cooked enough?
Check the water/rice ratio. Make sure the cooking pan is properly seated and the heating plate is clean. Rice must be properly rinsed and the lid tightly closed. If the problem persists, refer to the troubleshooting guide.
Why does the rice burn or a strong odor come out?
This may be due to excess water, unrinsed rice, or rice kept warm for too long (over 12 hours). Make sure to stir the rice after cooking and not leave the paddle in the pan. Clean the bottom of the pan and the heating plate regularly.
How long can I keep the rice warm?
It is recommended not to exceed 4 hours of keep warm to preserve taste and avoid discoloration or unpleasant odor. After that, unplug the appliance if you do not consume the rice.
How to clean my rice cooker?
Unplug and let cool. Clean the exterior and lid with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The cooking pan can be washed with a sponge and dish soap. Never use scouring powder or abrasive pads. Empty and clean the steam collector after each use.
Can I use the cooker for foods other than rice?
No, this appliance is designed for rice only. Do not heat other foods, do not reheat cold rice, and do not add oil.
What to do if the appliance does not turn on?
Check that the plug is properly inserted and the outlet works. Make sure the cord is not damaged. If the problem persists, contact an authorized agent for repair.
How to safely open and close the lid?
Do not touch the lid during or immediately after cooking to avoid burns. Use the handle and the opening button. Do not force the lid open during operation. The lid must be firmly closed before cooking.
Can I use an extension cord?
Yes, but it must have a power rating at least equal to that of the appliance (1400 W). Do not let the extension cord hang and avoid contact with hot surfaces.
What to do in case of water or steam leakage?
Stop the appliance and unplug it. Check that the lid gasket is properly in place and the steam collector is not clogged. If the leak persists, contact the manufacturer.
