How do I assemble my Krups Compact ZX720K citrus press?

Make sure the appliance is unplugged and in the OFF position. Insert the central rod into the center hole, then place the container over it. Add the pulp filter and finally the cone onto the rod. Lift the pouring spout upward to seal the opening before use.

How do I clean the parts of the Krups Compact ZX720K?

Unplug the appliance. Remove the cone, pulp filter, container, and lid. Wash them in warm soapy water with a soft sponge. Dry thoroughly before reassembling. Do not put the parts in the dishwasher and never immerse the body of the appliance.

Can I use fruits other than citrus?

No, this extractor is specifically designed for citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, grapefruits, limes). Using hard or stone fruits could damage the appliance.

Why is my extractor not working?

Check that the appliance is properly plugged in and the outlet is working. Make sure the container and cone are correctly engaged. If the appliance still does not start, contact Krups customer service.

How do I pour the juice without splashing?

Use a tall enough glass and place it under the pouring spout. Lower the pouring spout until you hear a click to release the juice. If the glass is full, lift the pouring spout to stop the flow, then place a new glass.

Can I leave the cord plugged in permanently?

No, for safety reasons, always unplug the appliance after use and before cleaning or disassembling.

What is the maximum capacity of the container?

The container can hold approximately 500 ml of juice. Do not exceed this capacity to avoid spills.

Where can I buy spare parts?

Spare parts (cone, filter, container) are available on the Krups website www.krups.com or from authorized service centers.

Is the appliance under warranty?

Yes, Krups offers a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Keep your proof of purchase. The warranty does not cover normal wear or damage due to misuse.

Do I need to press the fruit very hard onto the cone?

No, light pressure is sufficient. Press gently while guiding the fruit onto the cone. Excessive pressure may block or damage the appliance.

user serviceable parts inside. Repairs should be done by an authorised KRUPS Service Center only.

• Keep your hands and the cord away from hot parts during operation.
• Never clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners or sponges.
• Clean using gentle dishwashing liquid and warm water. Dry all parts carefully before next use.
• Do not place or use the appliance on hot surfaces such as stoves, hotplates, or near open gas flames.
• Do not unplug the unit by pulling on the cord. Instead grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
• Only use the appliance on a stable working surface away from water splashes.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS

A. We do not recommend using an extension cord with this device.
B. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary,

1) the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the machine,
2) the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
This machine has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

PRIOR TO FIRST USE

■ Before first use, remove all packaging, stickers, and accessories. Rinse all removable parts (a-b-c-d) and dry carefully. Wipe the outside of the citrus press with a clean damp cloth.

ASSEMBLING YOUR CITRUS PRESS

ENSURE THE CITRUS PRESS IS NOT PLUGGED IN WHEN ASSEMBLING.

■Assemble the Juicer as illustrated in this manual:

• Insert the Shaft into the middle opening of the Body and Fit Container on it. Fig. 1 and 2.
• Fit the Strainer over the top of the Container. Fig. 3.
• Fit Cone into Shaft, over the center of the Strainer. Fig. 3.
• Check the spout on the container is pull up to seal the juice outlet. Fig. 4.

USING YOUR CITRUS PRESS

■Plug unit into electrical outlet.
■To squeeze juice from the citrus fruit, cut fruit in half.
■Push the spout up so that the juice is kept in the container. Fig. 4.
■Cup half of the fruit in the palm of your hand and place it over the Cone.
■ Apply slight, downward pressure and gently squeeze the fruit as you guide it over and around the Cone. Fig. 5.
■ Push the spout down so that the juice empties into a cup when the fruit is juiced. Fig. 6.
■Place a small cup under the spout to collect the juice. Fig. 6.
- When you finished squeezing juice from fruit, remove Strainer and Cones from inside the Container. To serve juice, place the cup close to the front curve in front of the body, pull down the spout until hear "click" sound, and juice comes out from the outlet of Container.

REMARK: USE A SUITABLE CUP SIZE & HEIGHT TO ENSURE THE JUICE POURS DIRECTLY INTO THE CUP WITHOUT SPILLING.

TIPS OF USING SPOUT

A. In order to store the fruit juice into container, pull UP the spout until there is a "click" sound.
B. In order to serve the fruit juice after operating the juicer, pull DOWN the spout until there is a "click" sound. If the cup becomes full, pull the spout UP again to store the juice in the Container, then place a new cup under the spout to serve others.

FOR BEST RESULTS

For optimal juice extraction, press fruit at room temperature. Roll fruit on a table, using the palm of your hand and apply gentle pressure before cutting in half.

CLEANING

■Do not immerse the body of the unit into liquid.
■Before cleaning, always unplug the unit before disassembling it.
■Remove the cone, container, strainer and cover and clean these parts under warm soap water.
■The main body can only be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not immerse into any liquid.

CAUTION

■Be careful not to place any part near a stove or open fire.
■Use the Container only for its intended purpose. Do not pour hot liquids into the Container.
■Do not allow food to remain in the Container or on other parts. Keep the juicer clean.
■Never leave the Juicer plugged in if not in used, unplug it immediately after using.

The Warranty

This product is guaranteed by Krups for a period of 2 years against any manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship, starting from the initial date of purchase.

The manufacturer's warranty by Krups is an extra benefit which does not affect consumer's Statutory Rights.

The Krups warranty covers all costs related to restoring the proven defective product so that it conforms to its original specifications, through the repair or replacement of any defective part and the necessary labor. A replacement product may be provided instead of repairing a defective product. Krups's sole obligation and your exclusive resolution under this warranty are limited to such repair or replacement.

Conditions & Exclusions

The Krups warranty only applies within USA, Canada & Mexico, and is valid only on presentation of a proof of purchase. The product can be taken directly in person to an authorized service centre or must be adequately packaged and returned, by recorded delivery (or equivalent method of postage), to a Krups authorized service centre. Full address details for each country's authorized service centre are listed on the Krups website (www.krups.com) or by calling the appropriate telephone number listed below to request the appropriate postal address.

Krups shall not be obliged to repair or replace any product which is not accompanied by a valid proof of purchase.

This warranty will not cover any damage which could occur as a result of misuse, negligence, failure to follow Krups instructions, use on current or voltage other than as stamped on the product, or a modification or unauthorized repair of the product. It also does not cover normal tear and wear, maintenance or replacement of consumable parts, and the following:

• using the wrong type of water
• ingress of water, dust or insects into the product;
• mechanical damages, overloading
• damages or bad results due to wrong voltage or frequency
• accidents including fire, flood, lightning, etc
• professional or commercial use
• damage to any glass or porcelain ware in the product

- scaling (any de-scaling must be carried out according to the instructions for use);

This warranty does not apply to any product that has been tampered with, or to damages incurred through improper use and care, faulty packaging by the owner or mishandling by any carrier. The Krups manufacturer's warranty applies only for products purchased and used in USA, Canada & Mexico. Where a product purchased in one country and then used in another one:

a) The Krups guarantee duration is the one in the country of usage of the product, even if the product was purchased in another listed country with different guarantee duration.

b) The Krups guarantee does not apply in case of non conformity of the purchased product with the local standards, such as voltage, frequency, power plugs, or other local technical specifications.
c) The repair process for products purchased outside the country of use may require a longer time if the product is not locally sold by Krups
d) In cases where the product is not repairable in the new country, the Krups guarantee is limited to a replacement by a similar product or an alternative product at similar cost, where possible.

Consumer Statutory Rights

This Krups manufacturer's warranty does not affect the statutory rights a consumer may have or those rights that cannot be excluded or limited, nor rights against the retailer from which the consumer purchased the product. This warranty gives a consumer specific legal rights, and the consumer may also have other legal rights which vary from State to State or Country to Country or Province to Province. The consumer may assert any such rights at his sole discretion.
