Frequently Asked Questions - MSI400 BARTSCHER

How to prepare milk froth?
Pour cold milk into the jug without exceeding the MAX mark (400 ml). Place the appropriate froth disc (magnetic stirrer) in the jug, close the lid, and place the jug on the base. Plug in the appliance, then press the button for the desired temperature: cold, 65°C or 70°C. The appliance stops automatically at the end of the cycle. Remove the jug by the handle and serve.
What are the different operating modes?
The appliance offers three modes: cold emulsion (without heating), emulsion with heating at 65°C and emulsion with heating at 70°C. Each mode corresponds to a specific button on the base. The 65°C mode is ideal for warm frothy milk, the 70°C mode for hotter milk. The cold mode allows making cold froth for iced drinks.
How to clean the appliance?
Always unplug the appliance and let it cool before cleaning. The removable parts (jug, lid, magnetic stirrers) can be washed by hand with a soft sponge and dish soap, or in the dishwasher. The base must never be immersed: wipe it with a damp non-abrasive cloth. Make sure no water enters the inside of the base.
Can I put the jug in the dishwasher?
Yes, the stainless steel jug, the synthetic lid and the magnetic stirrers are all dishwasher safe. Place them in the top basket preferably. The base, on the other hand, should not be washed in the dishwasher.
How much milk to use?
Never exceed the MAX mark (400 ml) indicated inside the jug. For milk froth, a quantity of 150 ml is recommended for optimal results (frothing time of about 80 to 90 seconds). If you overfill, the milk may overflow during emulsion.
What to do if the appliance does not turn on?
First check that the plug is properly connected to a working mains socket and that the cable is not damaged. Make sure the base is dry and the jug is correctly positioned. If the appliance still does not turn on, contact Bartscher customer service. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
Can I use cold milk directly?
Yes, thanks to the built-in heating function, it is not necessary to preheat the milk. You can use cold milk straight from the refrigerator. The appliance heats it to the selected temperature while frothing it.
How to avoid overflowing?
To avoid any overflow, strictly observe the MAX mark on the jug (400 ml). Use the appropriate stirrer: the froth disc for milk froth, and the stirrers for milk drinks for thick preparations (hot chocolate, etc.). Do not operate the appliance without the lid.
Does the appliance stop automatically?
Yes, the appliance is equipped with an automatic shut-off at the end of the cycle. Depending on the mode selected, the cycle lasts between 80 and 240 seconds approximately. The indicator light of the selected button turns off when the appliance stops. You can also interrupt the cycle manually by pressing the button again.
Can I use plant-based milk?
The appliance is designed for all types of fresh milk, regardless of their fat content. Plant-based milks (soy, almond, oat, etc.) can be used, but their frothing ability varies. For best results, choose plant-based milks specifically formulated for frothing or fortified with protein. Always respect the maximum quantity of 400 ml.
