Frequently Asked Questions - UNI1017 Seecode

How to install the batteries?
Slide the battery compartment cover on the back of the device to open it. Insert two alkaline AAA batteries (UM-4) following the indicated polarity. Put the cover back on.
How to perform a test?
Turn on the device by pressing the power button once. Wait for the end of warm-up (countdown from 10 to 0). When the 'Blow' icon appears, exhale into the mouthpiece for 3 to 5 seconds. Read the result on the LCD screen.
What does the 'Caution' symbol mean?
The 'Caution' symbol appears when the alcohol concentration reaches an intermediate level: between 0.02% and 0.05% BAC (or 0.2 g/l and 0.5 g/l). It indicates a warning.
What does the 'Danger' symbol mean?
The 'Danger' symbol appears with an audible signal if the alcohol level is equal to or exceeds 0.05% BAC (or 0.5 g/l). It indicates a high alcohol level.
Why does the device turn off automatically?
The device turns off automatically about 15 seconds after displaying the result. The 'OFF' symbol then appears for 2-3 seconds before shutdown. This saves battery power.
How to know if the batteries are low?
If the 'L' symbol blinks on the screen, it indicates low batteries. The device will turn off automatically. Replace the used batteries with two new AAA batteries.
Should I wait before taking a test after drinking?
Yes, it is recommended to wait at least 20 minutes after drinking before taking a test. This allows the alcohol to be absorbed into the blood and any residual alcohol in the mouth to dissipate.
Can I clean the device with alcohol?
No, do not use chemicals such as benzene, thinner, or gasoline. Do not clean the device with liquids and do not inject any liquid into the breath tube.
Can I use the device for legal control?
No, this breathalyzer is designed as an aid to promote sensible driving. It should not be used for legal or medical decisions. The manufacturer disclaims any legal responsibility regarding the results.
What to do if the device displays '0.00'?
If you do not exhale into the mouthpiece during test mode, the screen will show '0.00'. Make sure to blow properly for 3 to 5 seconds. If the problem persists, check the batteries or perform a new warm-up.
