Operation

Intended Operation

The device is intended for repairing surfaces of laminate, cork, hardwood floors, wood, and plastic by melting a suitable wax.

Inserting the Batteries

Remove the battery compartment cover from the underside of the unit. Insert two batteries 1.5 V LR6 (AA) with correct polarity. Polarity symbols are on the unit.

If reaching the operating temperature requires more than 30 seconds the batteries should be replaced.

Included Items

1x Wax Melter with Protective Cap

2x Battery LR6/AA/1.5 V

1x Scraper

1x Flattening Tool

1x Abrasive Sponge for degreasing the Surface

1x Cleaning Cloth

11x Wax Sticks in different Colours

1x Manual

1x Hard Case

Preparations

Clean the damaged area with the scraper and remove all loose parts. If the edge of the damaged area is ragged, use the scraper to flatten it.

Colour Selection

Select the suitable colour wax sticks. Start with lighter colours and use the darker shades to adjust the colour. For genuine wood also use the opaque white wax to add depth to the mixture.

Operation

Melting

Remove the protective cap from the melting point. To switch on the wax melter push forward the entire switch assembly and then push the button on the slider. The tip will be heated while the button is pressed and held and the red LED lights up.

Always melt small amounts of wax from the sticks at a time.

Filling

Fill the damaged area in small steps until there is a slight excess of wax. Always work from lighter to darker colours.

For vertical surfaces it is advisable to mix the colour beforehand and apply it with the scraper.

Finishing

Allow the wax to solidify for 5 -7 seconds and carefully remove the excess with the flattening tool and the scraper. If necessary apply light pressure.

Use darker wax to imitate the grain of the wood. After that, again remove the excess with the flattening tool.

Finally, remove way residue with the abrasive sponge and adjust the shine to the rest of the work piece.

If necessary, repeat the procedure.

Cleaning, Maintenance and Service

The flattening tool can be cleaned with the serrated edge of the scraper. With the serrated edge, residual wax can be removed from the grooves.

Keep the wax melter dry and clean for safe and easy work.

Do not use liquids, abrasives or solvents for cleaning the wax melter. Either remove hot wax with the scraper and a paper towel or allow the wax to solidify and then carefully remove the cold wax.

Store the melter indoors in a place protected from dust, dirt and extreme temperatures out of the range of children.
