What to do if the ice maker does not work?
Check that the appliance is plugged into a 3-prong grounded outlet and the ON/OFF control is on. Check the fuse or circuit breaker. The ambient temperature must be above 55°F (13°C). Ensure the drain hose is not kinked and the drain plug is tightly closed.
Why is my machine producing little ice?
Use MAX ICE mode to increase production. Temperatures above 90°F (32°C) reduce output. Check that the condenser is not obstructed by dirt or lint. Scale buildup may require system cleaning. Ensure the drain plug is tightly closed and the water filter is correctly installed.
How to clean the ice maker system?
Press ON/OFF to turn off, wait 5-10 minutes for ice cubes to fall, remove them. Unscrew the drain plug from the water pan and drain the water. Pour one bottle of approved cleaner (part no. 4396808) into the water pan, then fill the bottle twice with tap water and pour it in. Press CLEAN; the cycle lasts about 70 minutes. When finished, drain and rinse if necessary.
When and how to replace the water filter?
Replace the disposable filter when the 'Order Filter' or 'Replace Filter' indicator lights up, at least every 9 months. Open the filter compartment door, turn the filter counterclockwise and remove it. Insert the new filter aligning the arrows, turn clockwise until it clicks into place. Close the door.
How to use MAX ICE mode?
While the machine is running, press the MAX ICE button. The indicator lights up and ice production is maximized for 24 hours. To deactivate, press again. This mode is enabled by default at first startup.
The ice cubes taste bad or are gray, what to do?
High mineral content in water may require treatment. Scale buildup in the system must be cleaned. Do not store food in the ice bin. Ensure all packaging materials have been removed during installation.
Why are the ice cubes thin or clumped?
Highly mineralized water or scale can cause thin ice. If ice is not used regularly, it melts and clumps; break up blocks with the provided scoop. Check that the drain plug is tightly closed.
What are the normal sounds of the ice maker?
You may hear a humming sound during water fill, clicking from the refrigerant, gurgling at the end of cycle, a thud during ice harvest, and the condenser fan. Water flowing from the evaporator may produce a splashing sound.
How to drain the water from the ice maker?
Unplug the appliance or cut off power. Open the ice bin door, remove ice cubes. Remove the drain plug under the water pan (located inside the storage bin) and let the water drain completely. Replace the plug securely before reconnecting.
