The device always has to be operated with an appropriate transformer ( EL Wire 10m) or with a suitable set of batteries (EL Wire 2m). Always disconnect from the mains or remove the batteries, when the device is not in use or before cleaning it.

f there are reasons for supposing that risk-free operation is no longer possible, the lighting chain must be deactivated and protected against accidental operation. Risk-free operation can no longer be supposed when the lighting chain

• has been stored long-term under adverse conditions, or

• has been exposed to stress during transport. Please consider that damages caused by manual modifications to the device are not subject to warranty. Keep away children and amateurs! OPERATING DETERMINATIONS This device is a lighting chain for creating decorative effects. The EL Wire 10m is only allowed to be operated with an alternating voltage of 230 V, 50 Hz and may only be operated with the included power unit. The power unit falls under protection-class 2 and the lighting chain under protection-class 3. The EL Wire 2m is allowed to be operated with a direct current of 3 V and may only be operated with a suitable set of batteries. Do not shake the device. Avoid brute force when installing or operating the device. Operate the device only after having familiarized with its functions. Do not permit operation by persons not qualified for operating the device. Most damages are the result of unprofessional operation! Please use the original packaging if the device is to be transported. Please consider that unauthorized modifications on the device are forbidden due to safety reasons! This lighting chain must never be electrically connected with another chain. If this device will be operated in any way different to the one described in this manual, the product may suffer damages and the guarantee becomes void. Furthermore, any other operation may lead to dangers like short- circuit, burns, electric shock, etc. OPERATION: EL Wire 10m In order to design the desired patterns, draw the form onto the surface or wrap the EL Wire around the desired form and attach the EL Wire with adhesive tape or a few drops of glue. Connect the power cable of the EL Wire to the transformer. Connect the transformer to the mains. Make sure that the outlet is in a dry area. On the controller of the EL Wire, you can find a 3-step switch with the following functions: On Static light Off Off BI Blinking light OPERATION: EL Wire 2m In order to design the desired patterns, draw the form onto the surface or wrap the EL Wire around the desired form and attach the EL Wire with adhesive tape or a few drops of glue. Open the battery cover and remove it. If replacing the batteries, remove the old batteries from the battery compartment. Only replace complete battery-sets.00023918.DOC, Version 1.49/18 Leaky or damaged batteries might cause cauterisation when in contact with the skin; therefore, use suitable

rotective gloves. Caution! Danger of explosion when battery is replaced improperly. Only replace by the same type or similar types recommended by the manufacturer. Remove empty batteries in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer. Insert the batteries and make sure that the poles are correct. Replace the battery cover and close it. Via the controller with the 3-step button, you can switch between blinking-mode, on and off. If the device will not be used for a longer period of time, remove the batteries in order to avoid battery leakage. In order to have a long battery life, you should only use alcaline batteries.

BATTERY DISPOSAL NOTICE

Please dispose of old and used batteries properly. Batteries are hazardous waste and should not be disposed of with regular domestic waste! Please take old and used batteries to a collection center near you.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Disconnectfrommainsbeforestartingmaintenanceoperation! DANGERTOLIFE! We recommend a frequent cleaning of the device. Please use a moist, lint-free cloth. Never use alcohol or solvents! There are no serviceable parts inside the device. If defective, please dispose of the unusable lighting chain in accordance with the current legal regulations.
