Frequently Asked Questions - FS160BSPY PKM

How to install the FS160BSPY hood?
Installation can be done on the wall or under a cabinet. Drill 8 mm holes for wall mounting or 4 mm holes for under-cabinet mounting. Use the provided dowels and screws. Ensure you respect the minimum distances from the hob: 65 cm for an electric hob, 75 cm for a gas hob, and 85 cm for a charcoal/oil appliance.
How to clean the grease filters?
The aluminum grease filters should be cleaned once a month. You can wash them by hand with a mild detergent or in a dishwasher at 30°C. Do not use abrasive or alkaline detergents (pH > 7). Dry them thoroughly before reinstalling.
When to replace the activated carbon filter?
The activated carbon filter is optional and used only in recirculation mode. It should be replaced every 3 to 6 months depending on your cooking frequency. It cannot be washed or recycled. To install it, first remove the grease filter, then insert the carbon filter by turning it clockwise on each side of the motor.
How to change the LED bulb of the hood?
First unplug the appliance. Remove the grease filter by pressing the latch and pulling down. Push the light from the inside and disconnect the wire from the terminal. Replace with a new LED bulb. Do not touch the bulb with bare hands: use a glove or clean cloth.
The hood does not work at all, what to do?
Check that the plug is properly inserted and the socket is powered. Check the fuse. If the voltage is too low, compare with the data on the rating plate. If the problem persists, contact a qualified professional.
The light turns on but the motor does not run, why?
This may be due to a blocked ventilation flap or a defective motor. Unblock the flap. If the motor is the cause, it must be replaced by a professional.
What is the minimum distance between the hood and the hob?
The minimum distance is 65 cm for a ceramic or electric hob, 75 cm for a gas hob, and 85 cm for a charcoal, oil, or wood stove. Respect these distances to avoid any fire risk.
The hood vibrates or makes noise, what to check?
Make sure the motor is properly secured and the hood is well attached. Also check that the exhaust pipe is not obstructed and its diameter is suitable (120 mm minimum). A dirty grease filter can also increase noise.
How to use the hood in extraction mode?
In extraction mode, air is exhausted outside via a duct. Install the non-return flap on the air outlet. The pipe diameter must be 120 or 150 mm. Ensure the duct is as short and straight as possible, with a minimum slope of 2° to avoid condensation.
Can the grease filters go in the dishwasher?
Yes, aluminum filters are dishwasher safe. Place them alone, without dishes, and use a gentle cycle at 30°C. Avoid acidic or alkaline detergents. Dry them well before reinstalling.
