General Notes
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this appliance to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
- Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the appliance without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the appliance off. Remove the plug from the socket.
- The appliance and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the appliance must not be used.
- Use only original spare parts.
- In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

WARNING:
Do not allow small children to play with the foil. There is a danger of suffocation!
Special Safety Instructions for this Appliance
You will find the following symbol with warning character on the appliance:

WARNING OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, shower basins or other vessels containing water.

WARNING:
- If the appliance is used in the bathroom please remove the plug from the socket after use as the proximity of water represents a hazard. This also applies if the appliance is switched off.
- As additional protection we recommend the installation of a fault current protection appliance (FI / RCD) with a rated current of not more than 30 mA in the wiring system of the bathroom. Please contact an authorised electrician for advice.
- Risk of burns! The appliance gets hot during operation! Do not touch the heating plates! Hold the appliance only by grabbing the bottom half where the hinge is located.

CAUTION:
- Put down the appliance only onto a heat-resistant, even surface.
- Keep the turned-on appliance far from easily inflammable objects or materials.

Make sure that the power cord does not come into contact with any hot parts of the appliance.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children must not play with the appliance. - Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are supervised.
- Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- Always remove the plug from the socket after use.
- Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it and storing it away!
- This appliance is not intended to be immersed in water during cleaning. Please observe the instructions that we have included for you in the chapter “Cleaning”.
Before Initial Use
- Remove all the packing materials.
- When the appliance is switched on for the first time there may be a slight smell. You should therefore operate the appliance for approximately 10 minutes without smoothing your hair. Ensuring sufficient ventilation!
Commissioning
- Fully unwind the mains cable.
- Insert the plug in a duly installed socket.
Check whether the control light on the button is lit!

WARNING: Risk of burns!
When the control light is lit, the appliance is already switched on. The heating plates get hot very quickly.
- Press the Ⓞ button to turn on the appliance. The control light will light up. After a few minutes, the appliance is operational.
- Release the locking on the back of the appliance, in case the locking is activated. To do this, grasp the bottom half of the appliance and slide the locking towards 📄
General Use

WARNING:
Only use the appliance for dry hair.

CAUTION:
- Only use the appliance with natural hair. It is not suitable for artificial hair pieces or wigs due to its high temperature.
- Never use the appliance in combination with styling products such as mousse, hairspray, or gel.

NOTE:
We recommend that you spray heat protection spray onto your dry hair prior to the application.

Comb or brush your hair to untangle it.
-
Take a strand of hair and pull it carefully downwards until it is taut.
- The remaining hair should be put up or fixed in place.
- Before the halves are pressed together for approx. 5 seconds, we recommend that you ensure that the hair is positioned correctly. Always begin at the base of the hair and move the appliance in the direction of the hair tip.
- In order to produce a uniform appearance it is important that the next strands fall in one line.
Ionizing Function with Tourmaline Coating – Reduction of Electrically-Charged Hair
The anti-static effect allows easier hair styling. The hair does not dry out, it becomes smooth and sparkling.
Switch-Off
- Press the ⏻ button after each use. The control light turns off.
- Disconnect the mains plug from the socket.
- Leave the appliance to cool before putting it away! To this purpose place the appliance on one side of the housing or hang it up by the suspension lug.
Storage
Once the appliance is cooled down completely, you can store it in a space-saving manner.
- To do this, keep it squeezed together and slide the locking on the back of the appliance towards 📋
• Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in a well-ventilated and dry place.
Mains Cable
- Do not wrap the mains cable around the appliance. This may result in the cable breaking.
- Check the mains cable regularly for damages.
Cleaning

WARNING:
- Before cleaning remove the mains lead from the socket.
- Under no circumstances should you immerse the appliance in water for cleaning purposes. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:
- Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
- Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
- Clean the casing with a soft, dry cloth – without any additional cleaning agents.
- The heating surfaces can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. If necessary you can use a commercial dish washing detergent.
- Dry the heating surfaces off thoroughly each time they are cleaned!
