How to replace the toner cartridge?
Open the top cover, remove the old cartridge, shake the new one vertically 5 times, remove the protective tape, insert it into the drum unit and lock the green levers. Refer to the manual page 9.
How to clean the scanner?
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the scanner glass and the white plate. Avoid solvents. For the feeder rollers, use a cloth dampened with water (pages 83-86).
How to set up the fax?
Connect the telephone cable to the RJ11 port, then press [MENU] [#][1][0][2] to enter your logo, [#][1][0][3] for the fax number. Set the reception mode (automatic or manual) with [FAX ABWESEND].
How to scan to a computer?
Place the document on the glass or in the feeder, press [SCANNEN], select 'Ablegen' (file) or 'Viewer', then choose your computer. Make sure Multi-Function Station is installed.
What to do in case of paper jam?
Open the top cover, remove the drum/toner unit, then gently remove the jammed paper. Also check the input tray. See page 77 for details.
How to copy an ID card (Quick ID)?
Place the ID card on the scanner glass, press [SEITENLAYOUT] repeatedly until 'Karte kopier', select '2 in 1', then [START]. The front and back will be printed on one page.
How to send a fax manually?
Insert the document in the feeder or on the glass, press [FAXEN], dial the number, then press [START]. For preliminary listening, press [MONITOR] first.
How to set the time and date?
Press [MENU] [#][1][0][1], enter the date (DD/MM/YY) and time (HH:MM) with two digits each. Use [▶] to select AM/PM or 24h. Confirm with [→].
How to use toner save mode?
Press [MENU] [#][4][8][2], select 'Enable' with [1] or [2], then [→]. This mode reduces toner consumption by about 40%, but may decrease print quality.
How to print the settings list?
Press [MENU] until 'Hilfe', select 'Listen drucken' with the navigation keys, then [→]. Choose the desired list (e.g., 'Grundeinstell.') and press [START].
