How to install the multifunction software?
Insert the supplied CD-ROM into the drive. If installation does not start automatically, click Start > Run and type 'D:\install' (replace D: with your drive letter). Follow the instructions and connect the USB cable only when prompted.

When the message 'TONER EMPTY' appears, open the top cover, remove the drum+toner assembly by holding it by the tabs, then separate the toner from the drum. Shake the new toner cartridge vertically 5 times, remove the protective tape, insert it into the drum and turn the green levers. Reinsert the assembly and close the cover.
How to scan a document to the computer?
Place the document face down on the glass. Press SCAN, select 'VIEWER' (or 'FILE', 'EMAIL', 'OCR') using the arrow keys, confirm with SET, then press START. The image appears in the multifunction software.
How to make a two-sided copy on one page (rapid ID copy)?
Place the original. Press PAGE LAYOUT until 'CARD COPY' appears, then SET. Select the number of documents (2, 4 or 8 in 1) and layout (landscape/portrait). Press START, scan each side, then press SET after each page. The machine prints everything on one sheet.
What type of paper is recommended?
Use plain paper of 60 to 90 g/m², preferably machine direction. Avoid papers containing more than 20% cotton or fiber, coated, wrinkled, damp or intended for inkjet printers. For labels, use laser printer labels such as Avery.
How to enable toner saving?
Press MENU, enter the code #482 using the numeric keys, then select '1' to enable. Confirm with SET then MENU. Toner saving may reduce print quality but extends cartridge life by about 40%.
How to clean the scanner glass?
Open the document cover. Clean the white plate (top) and the scanner glass (bottom) with a soft, dry cloth. Close the cover. If black lines appear, also clean the lower glass under the top cover after removing the drum.
What to do if the machine displays 'CONTACT SERVICE'?
This message indicates an internal malfunction. Unplug the machine, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in. If the message persists, contact Panasonic customer service.
How to print a list of settings?
