How do I change the dustbag?

Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Open the dust compartment lid by pressing the release button. Remove the full bag by pulling the handle (the hygienic closure closes automatically). Insert a new Original Miele bag until it stops, without unfolding it. Close the lid until it clicks. Reattach the hose by aligning the markers.

Which filters need to be replaced and how often?

There are three filters: a motor protection filter (replace with every new pack of bags), an exhaust filter (about every year, or when the Timestrip indicator turns red), and the dustbag (when the indicator is red). Use only filters with the 'Original Miele' logo.

What should I do if the vacuum suddenly stops?

This is due to a thermal limiter that activates in case of overheating. Possible causes: blocked hose, full bag, dirty filter. Turn off and unplug the device. Eliminate the cause (e.g., empty the bag, clean the filter). Wait 20-30 minutes for the vacuum to cool down before restarting.

Can I use the vacuum without a dustbag?

No, never without a bag. The vacuum only works properly with a dustbag inserted. The lid will not close if the bag is missing. Also, always vacuum with a motor filter and exhaust filter in place.

How do I adjust the suction power?

Use the rotary dial on the device. The symbols indicate usage: curtains/textiles (low), furniture, valuable carpets, daily vacuuming (medium), thick carpets (high), hard floors (strong). For better glide, reduce power if the nozzle sticks to the floor.

How do I clean the double position nozzle?

For the double position nozzle, remove it from the tube by pressing the release button. Remove threads and hair from the brush strips. For models with AllTeQ nozzle, clean the wheels by unlocking the axle with a coin, removing the wheel, cleaning dirt, then reattaching. Use a dry or slightly damp cloth for the exterior.

What accessories are included with the Complete C2 Tango?

The vacuum is supplied with: an ergonomic handle, a telescopic tube (or EasyLock), a double position nozzle, a crevice tool, a swivel upholstery brush, and a dusting brush. Some models also include an AllergoTeQ nozzle or turbobrush.

How do I store the vacuum after use?

Turn off the device and unplug the cord. Press the rewind button to wind the cord. If you have a telescopic tube, retract it completely. Fix the nozzle into the parking slot at the rear of the vacuum using the lug. You can also hang the vacuum vertically using the attachment system.

How do I activate the Timestrip filter saturation indicator?

After inserting an Active AirClean 50 or HEPA AirClean 50 exhaust filter, open the dust compartment, remove the protective adhesive strip, press the Timestrip indicator for 10-15 seconds until a red band appears on the left. The indicator will become fully red after about 50 hours of use, signaling filter replacement.

This vacuum cleaner complies with current safety requirements. Inappropriate use can, however, lead to personal injury and damage to property.

To avoid the risk of personal injury and damage to the vacuum cleaner, please read these instructions carefully before using it for the first time. They contain important information on its safety, operation and maintenance.

Keep these instructions in a safe place and pass them on to any future owner.

Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the mains supply when you have finished using it, before changing over accessories, as well as for maintenance work and cleaning. Switch the vacuum cleaner off at the wall socket and unplug it.

Correct application

This vacuum cleaner is intended for cleaning flooring in domestic households and similar residential environments.
This vacuum cleaner can be used for all normal cleaning of carpets, rugs and robust hard flooring.
This vacuum cleaner is not intended for outdoor use.
This vacuum cleaner is intended for use at altitudes of up to 4000m above sea level.
The vacuum cleaner must only be used to vacuum dry floor surfaces. Do not use on people and animals. Any other usage, modification or alteration is not supported by the manufacturer and could be dangerous.

This vacuum cleaner can only be used by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, if they are supervised whilst using it or have been shown how to use it in a safe way and understand and recognise the consequences of incorrect operation.

Safety with children

Danger of suffocation. Packaging, e.g. plastic wrappings, must be kept out of the reach of babies and children. Whilst playing, children could become entangled in packaging or pull it over their head and suffocate.
Children under 8 years of age must be kept away from the vacuum cleaner unless they are constantly supervised.
Children aged 8 and older may only use the vacuum cleaner without supervision if they have been shown how to use it in a safe manner. Children must be able to understand and recognise the possible dangers caused by incorrect operation.
Children must not be allowed to clean or maintain the vacuum cleaner unsupervised.
Please supervise children in the vicinity of the vacuum cleaner and do not let them play with it.

Technical safety

Before using the vacuum cleaner and its accessories, check for any visible signs of damage. Do not use a damaged appliance.

Ensure that the connection data on the data plate of the vacuum cleaner (voltage and frequency) match the mains electricity supply exactly. The vacuum cleaner is suitable for use with 50Hz or 60Hz without modification.
The mains electrical plug must be fitted with an appropriate fuse.
AUS/NZ: The mains electrical outlet must be fitted with an appropriate circuit breaker.
Reliable and safe operation of this vacuum cleaner can only be assured if it has been connected to the mains electricity supply.
While the vacuum cleaner is under warranty, repairs should only be undertaken by a Miele authorised service technician. Otherwise the warranty will be invalidated.
- Do not pull or carry the vacuum cleaner by the cable, and be careful not to damage the cable when withdrawing the plug from the socket. Keep the cable away from sharp edges and do not let it get squashed, for example, under a door. Avoid running the vacuum cleaner over the cable. This could damage the cable, plug or socket. The appliance must not be used if any of these have suffered damage.
Do not use the vacuum cleaner if the cable is damaged. If the cable is damaged it must be replaced together with a complete cable rewind. For safety reasons this must only be done by Miele Service or a Miele authorised service technician.

When vacuuming, in particular fine dust, e.g. sawdust, sand, plaster, flour, talcum powder etc., electrostatic charges build up naturally. Under certain conditions these charges will be released. To avoid the unpleasant effects of these discharges, a metal inlay has been incorporated into the underside of the handle. Please make sure that you keep your hand in constant contact with this metal strip during vacuuming.
Do not let the vacuum cleaner get wet. Clean only with a dry cloth or slightly damp cloth when disconnected from the mains supply.
Repairs should only be carried out by a Miele authorised service technician. Repairs and other work by unqualified persons can cause considerable danger to users.
- Miele can only guarantee the safety of the appliance when genuine original Miele replacement parts are used. Faulty components must only be replaced by Miele spare parts.

Correct use

To avoid the risk of damage, do not use the vacuum cleaner without the dustbag, dust compartment filter and exhaust filter in place.
The dust compartment cover will not close without a dustbag fitted. Do not force it.
Do not vacuum up anything which has been burning or is still glowing e.g. cigarettes, ashes or coal, whether glowing or apparently extinguished.

• Do not use the vacuum cleaner to vacuum up any water, liquid or damp dirt. Wait until any freshly cleaned or shampooed rugs or carpets are completely dry before attempting to vacuum.
• Do not use the vacuum cleaner to vacuum toner dust. Toner, such as that used in printers and photocopiers, can conduct electricity.
• Do not vacuum up any inflammable or combustible liquids or gases and do not vacuum in areas where such substances are stored.
  Do not vacuum at head height and do not let the suction get anywhere near a person's head.

Accessories

To avoid the risk of injury when vacuuming with a Miele Turbobrush, do not touch the rotating roller brush.
It is not advisable to vacuum directly with the handle, i.e. without an accessory attached as the rim could get damaged and you could hurt yourself on sharp edges.
Only use genuine dustbags, filters and accessories with the "ORIGINAL Miele" logo on them. Otherwise the manufacturer cannot guarantee the safety of the product.

Miele cannot be held liable for damage caused by incorrect use or operation or by non-compliance with these Warning and Safety instructions.

Disposal of the packing material

The packaging is designed to protect the appliance from damage during transportation. The packaging materials used are selected from materials which are environmentally friendly for disposal and should be recycled.

Recycling the packaging reduces the use of raw materials in the manufacturing process and also reduces the amount of waste in landfill sites.

Disposing of the dustbag and filters

Dustbags and filters are made from environmentally friendly materials, and can be disposed of with the normal household waste, as long as they have been used exclusively for general household dust.

Disposing of your old appliance

Before disposing of your old appliance remove the dustbag and filters and dispose of them with your household waste.

Electrical and electronic appliances often contain valuable materials. They also contain specific materials, compounds and components, which were essential for their correct function and safety. These could be hazardous to human health and to the environment if disposed of with your domestic waste or if handled incorrectly. Please do not, therefore, dispose of your old appliance with your household waste.

Please dispose of it at your local community waste collection / recycling centre for electrical and electronic appliances, or contact your dealer or Miele for advice. You are also responsible (by law, depending on country) for deleting any personal data that may be stored on the appliance being disposed of. Please ensure that your old appliance poses no risk to children while being stored prior to disposal.

Notes on Delegated Regulation (EU) No. 665/2013 and 666/2013

This vacuum cleaner is a domestic vacuum cleaner and is classified as a universal vacuum cleaner in accordance with the above-mentioned regulations.

These operating instructions, the EU data sheet and the online energy efficiency label for this vacuum cleaner are available to download from the Miele website at www.miele.com.

The annual energy consumption stated on the data sheet and on the energy efficiency label describes the indicative annual energy consumption (kWh per year), based on 50 cleaning cycles. Actual energy consumption depends on how the vacuum cleaner is used.

All tests and calculations were carried out according to the following harmonised standards applicable at the time in due consideration of the published regulation guidelines of the European Commission from September 2014: a) EN 60312-1 Vacuum cleaners for household use - Part 1: Dry vacuum cleaners - Methods for measuring the performance.
b) EN 60704-2-1 Household and similar electrical appliances - Test code for the determination of airborne acoustical noise - Part 2-1: Particular requirements for vacuum cleaners.
c) EN 60335-2-2 Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-2: Particular requirements for vacuum cleaner and water suction appliances.

Not all floorheads and accessories supplied with the vacuum cleaner are intended for intensive cleaning of carpets or hard floors as described in the regulations. The following floorheads and settings were used to determine the values:

For energy consumption and cleaning class on carpet and hard floors and sound power level on carpet the universal floorhead was used with the brush retracted (press the footswitch). If your vacuum cleaner is supplied as standard with an SID Intensive floorhead, this will have been used for determining the values.

If your vacuum cleaner is supplied as standard with the SRD hard floorbrush, this is designed for intensive vacuuming of hard floors with gaps and crevices and will have been used to determine the above values on hard floors.

The values on the EU data sheet and the energy efficiency label refer exclusively to the combinations and settings of floorheads on the different floor surfaces described here.

Only original Miele dustbags, motor protection filters and exhaust filters were used for all measurements.

Preparing for use

Attach the suction hose (dia. 01)

Insert the hose connector into the suction socket on the vacuum cleaner until it clicks into position. To do this, line up the guides on the two pieces.

To detach the suction hose (dia. 02)

Press the release buttons at the side of the hose connector, and lift the hose from the socket.

Connect the suction hose to the handle (dia. 03)

Fit the connector at the other end of the suction hose into the handle until it clicks into position.

Your vacuum cleaner is fitted with one of the following suction tubes, depending on model:

• EasyLock suction tube
• Telescopic suction tube
• Comfort telescopic suction tube

To assemble the EasyLock tube (dia. 04)

Hold the suction tube by the connection piece and push it into the second suction tube, turning it clockwise or anti-clockwise until it clicks into position.
- Slide the connection piece upwards until it clicks into position.

Connect the handle to the suction tube (dia. 05 + 06 )

To detach the handle

To detach the handle from the suction tube, press the release button and pull the handle out of the suction tube, twisting it slightly as you do so.

Adjusting the telescopic suction tube (dia. 07)

One part of the telescopic tube is packed inside the other, and it can be adjusted to suit your height for comfortable vacuuming.

Press the release button and adjust the tube to the desired height.

• Grasp the release mechanism and adjust the telescopic suction tube to the required length.

Connect the suction tube to the floorhead (dia. 08)

Push the suction tube into the floorhead and turn it clockwise or anticlockwise until it clicks into position.

To separate the suction tube from the floorhead press the release button and pull the suction tube away from the floorhead, twisting it slightly as you do so.

To adjust the floorhead (dia. 09, 10 + 11)

This vacuum cleaner can be used for daily cleaning of carpets, rugs and robust hard flooring.

Miele offer a range of other floorheads, brushes and accessories for other types of flooring and special requirements (see "Optional accessories").

Please observe the flooring manufacturer's cleaning and care instructions.

Clean hard flooring which is not susceptible to scratching, as well as flooring with gaps or deep crevices in it with the brush protruding:

Press the foot control.

This type of flooring can be briefly vacuumed with the brush retracted. Carpets and rugs should be vacuumed with the brush retracted:

Press the foot control.

If the suction power of the adjustable floorhead seems too high, reduce the suction until the floorhead is easier to manoeuvre (see "Use - To regulate the suction power").

Using the SID Intensive floorhead

Please observe the flooring manufacturer's cleaning and care instructions.

The SID floorhead is designed for brief use on carpets, and for vacuum flooring with deep gaps and crevices.

For continuous vacuuming we recommend using the adjustable floorhead.

Activating the exhaust filter TimeStrip® change indicator on the exhaust filter

Depending on the model, your vacuum cleaner will be fitted as standard with one of the following exhaust filters (dia. 12).

a AirClean

b AirClean Plus 50 (light blue)

c Active AirClean 50 (black)

d HEPA AirClean 50 (white)

If your vacuum cleaner is fitted with filter c or d, you need to activate the exhaust filter TimeStrip® change indicator.

Press the release catch for the dust compartment lid and raise the lid as far as it will go (dia. 13).
Remove the indicator strip (dia. 14).
Press the exhaust filter TimeStrip® change indicator (dia. 15).

After approx. 10 - 15 seconds, a thin red line will appear in the left hand side of the display (dia. 16).

• Close the dust compartment lid securely, making sure it clicks into position. Take care not to trap the dust-bag when doing so.

How the exhaust filter TimeStrip works®

The exhaust filter TimeStrip® change indicator shows the remaining functional life of the exhaust filter. After approx. 50 operating hours the display will be completely filled with red (dia. 17). 50 operating hours equates to approximately one year of use.

To open the accessories compartment (dia. 19)

Press the release button on the accessories compartment lid.
The accessories compartment will then open.
Take out the accessory you require.
Press down firmly on the lid to close it.

Adjustable floorhead (dia. 20)

The adjustable floorhead can also be used for vacuuming the stairs.

For safety reasons when vacu-uming stairs, it is best to start at the bottom of the stairs and move upwards.

Use

Unwinding the mains cable (dia. 21)

Pull the mains cable out to the required length.
Insert the plug into the socket.

If vacuuming for longer than 30 minutes, the cable must be pulled out all the way. There is a risk of overheating and damage.

To rewind the cable (dia. 22)

• Switch off at the wall socket and remove the plug.
  Press the rewind foot switch. The cable will rewind automatically.

To switch on and off (dia. 23)

Press the On/Off foot control ①.

To regulate the suction power (dia. 24)

The suction power can be regulated to suit the type of flooring being cleaned. Reducing the suction power reduces the amount of effort required to manoeuvre the floorhead.

The vacuum cleaner has symbols on the controls which indicate the type of use the settings are suitable for.

When using the adjustable floorhead, if the suction seems too high, reduce the suction until the floorhead is easier to manoeuvre.

Turn the suction power selector manually to the suction power setting you require.

To open the air inlet valve (dia. 25)

It is easy to reduce the suction power for a short time, e.g. to prevent rugs or other objects being sucked into the vacuum cleaner.
- Open the air inlet valve on the handle far enough to reduce the suction power.

The floorhead will be easier to manoeuvre. Close the valve when you are ready to use full power again.

During vacuuming

• When vacuuming, pull the cleaner behind you on its wheels. You can stand it upright for vacuuming stairs and curtains etc.

Setting down, transportation and storage

Park System for pauses during vacuuming (dia. 27)

The Park System allows you to conveniently park the suction tube and floorhead during brief pauses.

Slot the floorhead into the slot in the parking attachment.

If your vacuum cleaner is on a sloping surface, e.g. a ramp,

• retract the telescopic suction tube fully
• do not use the park system if your vacuum cleaner has an EasyLock suction tube.

Park System for storage (dia. 28 + 29)

Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the power supply when you have finished using it. Switch off at the wall socket and withdraw the plug.

If your vacuum cleaner has an EasyLock suction tube you can separate the two sections for storage purposes.

Press the release button on the lower section and pull the top section out.
Push the connection piece attached to the upper tube into the lower tube.
Stand the vacuum cleaner upright.

If your vacuum cleaner has a telescopic suction tube, retract the tubes fully so that it takes up less room for storage.
Slot the floorhead downwards into one of the parking attachments on the side of the vacuum cleaner.

This makes the vacuum cleaner easier to carry or store.

Maintenance

Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical supply for maintenance work and for cleaning. Switch off at the wall socket and unplug it.

The Miele filtration system consists of three components:

• Original Miele dustbag (type GN)
• Motor protection filter
• Original Miele exhaust filter

These will need to be replaced from time to time to ensure that your vacuum cleaner performs efficiently.

We recommend only using genuine dustbags, filters and accessories with the "ORIGINAL Miele" logo on them. This will ensure that the suction power of the vacuum cleaner is maintained, giving the best possible cleaning results.

Dustbags with the "ORIGINAL Miele" logo on them are not made from paper or paper-based materials and nor do they have a cardboard collar. This is why our dustbags are particularly long-lasting and reliable.

Please note that appliance faults and damage originating from the use of accessories which do not carry the "ORIGINAL Miele" logo will not be covered by the appliance guarantee.

Purchasing dustbags and filters

Original Miele dustbags and filters are available from the Miele webshop, the Miele Spare Parts Department and your Miele dealer.

Original Miele dustbags and filters are identified by the "ORIGINAL Miele" logo on the packaging.

Every packet of original Miele dustbags contains four dustbags, one AirClean exhaust filter and one motor protection filter. Original Miele multipacks contain 16 dustbags, four AirClean exhaust filters and four motor protection filters (available depending on country).

Original Miele exhaust filters can also be purchased separately from Miele or your Miele dealer. Please quote the model number of your vacuum cleaner when ordering to make sure you get the correct filter. You can also order all accessories via the Miele webshop.

Dustbag change indicator (dia. 30)

Change the dustbag when the colour marker in the dustbag change indicator turns red, or sooner if it is no longer effective (see possible reasons for this below).

Miele dustbags are intended to be used only once. Dispose of the dustbag when it is full. Do not attempt to re-use. Blocked pores reduce the suction power of the vacuum cleaner.

To check the dustbag change indicator

• Attach the standard adjustable floorhead to the vacuum cleaner.
• Switch the vacuum cleaner on and select the highest power setting.
  Lift the floorhead off the floor a little.

How the dustbag change indicator works

The dustbag change indicator is set for normal household dust. This generally contains a mixture of dust, hair, threads, carpet fluff, grit etc.

However, if the cleaner has been used to vacuum up fine dust, such as plaster, brick dust, cement or flour, the pores of the dustbag will become blocked very quickly.

This affects the air permeability of the bag, and the marker will indicate that the bag is "full" even when it is not. The dustbag must be replaced if this is the case.

If, on the other hand, a large amount of hair and carpet fluff which typically contains a lot of air is vacuumed up, the indicator may fail to react even though the bag is full. You should still change it. Both these extremes can occur.

Remove the dustbag (dia. 31)

Press the release catches at the side of the hose connector, and lift the hose from the socket (dia. 02).
- Lift the release catch for the dust compartment lid and raise the lid as far as it will go (dia. 13).

The dustbag has a flap which closes automatically when the dust compartment lid is raised to prevent any dust escaping.
Pull the dustbag out by the grip on the collar.

Fitting a dustbag (dia. 32)

Fit the new dustbag into the holder as far as it will go. Leave the dustbag folded up when you take it out of the box.
- Close the dust compartment lid securely, making sure it clicks into position. Take care not to trap the dust-bag when doing so.

A safety device prevents the lid closing without a dustbag in place. Do not force it!

Insert the hose connector into the suction socket on the vacuum cleaner until it clicks into position. To do this, line up the guides on the two pieces (dia. 01).

Replace the motor protection filter whenever you start a new packet of dustbags.

Every packet of original Miele dustbags contains a motor protection filter. Multipacks contain four motor protection filters (available depending on country).

• Open the dust compartment lid.
  Pull the dustbag out by the grip on the collar.
• Lift up the filter frame until it clicks and remove the old filter. Hold by the clean, unsoiled section to remove it.
  Replace with a new motor protection filter.
  Close the filter frame.
  Fit the dustbag into the holder as far as it will go.
• Close the dust compartment lid securely, making sure it clicks into position. Take care not to trap the dust-bag when doing so.

Replacing the exhaust filter

Depending on the model, your vacuum cleaner will be fitted as standard with one of the following exhaust filters (dia. 12).

a AirClean

Replace this filter every time you start a new packet of Miele dustbags. Every

packet of original Miele dustbags contains one AirClean exhaust filter. Multipacks contain four AirClean filters (available depending on country).

b AirClean Plus 50 (light blue) Replace this filter after approx. one year. Make a note of the date on the filter.

c Active AirClean 50 (black)

d HEPA AirClean 50 (white)

Replace this filter when the exhaust filter TimeStrip® change indicator is completely red (dia. 17). The indicator lights up after approximately 50 hours of operation, which is equivalent to about a year of average use. You can continue vacuuming when the light comes on. However, the suction power will be reduced as will the effectiveness of the filter if it is not replaced in good time.

Replacing the AirClean filter (dia. 34 + 35)

Do not use more than one exhaust filter at a time.

Open the dust compartment lid.
Press the release catch on the filter grille and open the grille as far as it will go.
- Grasp the used AirClean filter by one of the clean, unsoiled sections and take it out.
Replace it with a new AirClean exhaust filter.

If you wish to fit an AirClean Plus 50, Active AirClean 50 or an HEPA AirClean 50 filter, see "Replacing one type of exhaust filter with another".

Close the filter grille.
- Close the dust compartment lid.

Replacing the AirClean Plus 50, Active AirClean 50 and HEPA AirClean 50 exhaust filters (dia. 36 + 37

Do not use more than one exhaust filter at a time.

Open the dust compartment lid.
- Lift the exhaust filter and remove it.
Insert a new exhaust filter, making it sure it goes in properly, then press it down into position.
If you are using exhaust filter c or d, press the exhaust filter TimeStrip® change indicator (dia. 15).

After approx. 10 - 15 seconds, a thin red line will appear in the left hand side of the display (dia. 16).

Close the dust compartment lid.

Replacing one type of exhaust filter with another (dia. 12)

Depending on model, your vacuum cleaner will be fitted as standard with one of the following exhaust filters:

a AirClean

b AirClean Plus 50 (light blue)

c Active AirClean 50 (black)

d HEPA AirClean 50 (white)

Do not use more than one exhaust filter at a time.

When changing the filter, please note

1. If you wish to replace exhaust filter a with filter b, c or d, it is essential that you remove the filter grille before you fit the new exhaust filter.

If you are using exhaust filter c or d, you must also activate the exhaust filter TimeStrip® change indicator (dia. 15).

1. If you wish to replace exhaust filter b, c or d with filter a it is essential that this filter is fitted in the filter grille * dia. 35).

Replacing the thread lifters (dia. 38 + 39)

not possible on EcoTeQ Plus floorheads)

The thread lifters on the suction inlet to the floorhead can be replaced. Replace the thread lifters if the pile has worn down.

Lever the thread lifters from the slots. To do so use a suitable tool, e.g. a flat blade screwdriver.
Fit new thread lifters.

Cleaning the roller on the AllTeQ floorhead (dia. 40)

Clean the roller on the floorhead if required.

① Release the bearing (with bayonet fitting) using a coin.
② Press the bearing out, and remove.
③ Remove the roller.

• Remove any threads and hair, replace the roller and refit the bearing, locking it back into position.

Replacement parts are available from your Miele dealer or from the Miele Spare Parts Dept.

Cleaning and care

Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical supply before cleaning it. Switch off at the wall socket and unplug it.

Vacuum cleaner and accessories

The vacuum cleaner and all plastic accessories can be cleaned with a proprietary cleaner suitable for plastic.

Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, glass cleaning agents, all-purpose cleaners or oil-based conditioning agents!

Dust compartment

The dust compartment can, if necessary, be cleaned using a dry duster, brush or, if available, a second vacuum cleaner to vacuum the dust out.

Do not let the vacuum cleaner get wet! If moisture gets into the vacuum cleaner, there is a risk of electric shock.

Problem solving guide

Many malfunctions and faults that can occur in daily operation can be easily remedied. Time and money will be saved because a service call will not be needed.

The following guide may help you to find the reason for a malfunction or a fault, and to correct it.

Problem Cause and remedy

The vacuum cleaner switches off automatically.

A temperature limiter switches the vacuum cleaner off automatically if it gets too hot. This can occur if, for instance, large articles block the suction tube or when the dustbag is full or contains particles of fine dust. A heavily soiled exhaust or dust compartment filter can also be the cause of overheating. ■ Switch the vacuum cleaner off immediately using the On/Off foot control ①. Switch off at the wall socket and unplug it. After removing the cause, wait for approximately 20 - 30 minutes to allow the vacuum cleaner to cool down. It can then be switched on again.

AllergoTeQ floorhead (SBDH 285-3)

This floorhead is suitable for daily hygienic cleaning of all floor surfaces. The level of cleanliness of the floor shows in a colour "traffic light" display when vacuuming.

Turbobrush TurboTeQ (STB 305-3) / Turbobrush Turbo (STB 205-3)

This brush is ideal for removing fluff and hair from short-pile carpet.

Hard floorbrush (SBB 235-3)

This brush is designed for use on hard flooring such as tiled or stone floors.

Hard floor Twister floorbrush with swivel action (SBB 300-3)

This brush is suitable for a variety of hard floor surfaces and has a swivel joint enabling it to get into awkward corners.

Filter grille

The filter grille is required if you wish to use an AirClean exhaust filter instead of an AirClean Plus 50 exhaust filter, an Active AirClean 50 exhaust filter or a HEPA AirClean 50 exhaust filter.

Electrical connection for the UK

All electrical work should be carried out by a suitably qualified and competent person in strict accordance with current national and local safety regulations (BS 7671 in the UK). The voltage and frequency are given on the data plate located underneath the vacuum cleaner. Please ensure that these match the household mains supply. The fuse rating is quoted on the plug. The appliance is supplied with a cable and moulded plug ready for connection to a 230 - 240V / 50Hz a.c. single phase supply.

Non-rewireable plugs BS 1363

The fuse cover must be re-fitted when changing the fuse, and if the fuse cover is lost the plug must not be used until a suitable replacement is obtained. The colour of the correct replacement cover is that of the coloured insert in the base of the plug, or the colour that is embossed in words on the base of the plug, (as applicable to the design of plug fitted). Replacement fuses should be ASTA approved to BS1362 and have the correct rating. Replacement fuses and fuse covers may be purchased from your local electrical supplier.
