How to set the alarm on the DAB970?
Press the TIMER button on the remote control. Select Alarm 1 or 2 using ▼/▲ buttons, then press OK. Adjust settings: activation, frequency, time, source (buzzer, DAB/FM radio, CD or USB), duration and volume. Confirm each step with OK.
How to connect a phone via Bluetooth?
Select the Bluetooth function by pressing the BT button on the remote control or the Source button on the unit. If no device is paired, pairing starts automatically. On your phone, enable Bluetooth and search for 'DAB970' in the list. Select it to complete the connection.
How to search for DAB stations?
In DAB mode, press MENU, select Full Scan using ▼/▲ buttons, then confirm with OK. The unit scans for all available stations. You can also perform a manual search in Menu > Manual Tune.
Can I program songs on CD or USB?
Yes. In CD or USB mode, press PROGRAM on the remote. The display shows P01 T01. Use ◀◀ or ▶▶ to select the track, then press PROGRAM again to add it. Repeat up to 20 tracks. Press ▶II to start programmed playback.
How to adjust the equalizer?
Press the EQ button on the remote several times to choose from Normal, Classic, Jazz, Pop, Rock or My equalizer. To customize My equalizer, first press USER then adjust bass (Bass +/-) and treble (Treble +/-).
What to do if the unit does not turn on?
Check that the mains adapter is properly connected to the wall outlet and the unit. Make sure the outlet works. If the problem persists, unplug the adapter for 30 seconds then plug it back in. If still no power, contact customer service.
How to use the sleep timer?
Press the SLEEP button on the remote several times to select the duration: 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes. The unit will turn off automatically after the chosen time. To cancel, press until OFF appears.
Can I plug in headphones?
Yes. Plug your headphones (3.5 mm jack) into the Headphone socket located on the back of the unit. The speaker sound will then be muted automatically.
How to update the unit's software?
Download the update from the Soundmaster website and copy it to a USB stick. Insert the stick into the USB port. Go to Menu > System settings > Version update. Follow the on-screen instructions. Do not unplug the unit during the update.
What to do if the sound becomes weak or distorted on FM?
Switch to mono mode: press MENU, select Audio setting, then Forced mono and confirm with OK. This improves reception of weak stations. You can also change the scan settings to only store strong stations in Menu > Scan setting.
