The packaging protects the unit against transport damage. The packaging materials are selected according to the environmental compatibility and disposal-related aspects and can therefore be recycled.

The return of packaging into the material cycle saves raw material and reduces the waste volume. Dispose of the packaging material no longer needed at collection points for the “Green Dot” recycling system (in Germany).

  • The unit has to be placed on a solid, flat, horizontal, and non-slipping surface with a sufficient weight-carrying capacity.

Before initial use, after non-using the unit for a long time or after descaling it, we recommend to carry out 2 brewing operations for approximately 4 cups as described in the following, but without coffee.

PREPARING COFFEE

- Fill the water tank with water.

IMPORTANT!

When filling the water tank, please observe the following:

  • Fill the water tank to the maximum 10 / 15 cup level marking.

  • Open the coffee filter.

  • Put in one filter bag (size 1 x 4 or number 4).
  • Fill the coffee filter with coffee grounds.

  • Close the coffee filter.
  • Put the glass jug below the coffee filter. Check to see that the glass jug sits correctly below the coffee filter.
  • Switch the unit on.
  • After completion of the brewing operation, the hotplate will still keep the coffee warm for about 40 minutes.

  • Remove the lid from the glass jug.
  • Clean these parts in hot rinsing water.
  • Then towel them well and reinsert the coffee filter and glass jug.

DESCALING

Descale the unit in regular intervals. This will extend the service life of your unit. How often you must descale the unit depends on the water hardness in your area. If you have very hard water (above 26^ dH) and drink coffee very often, we recommend that you descale the unit every two to three weeks.

IMPORTANT!

We accept no liability for missing or insufficient decalcification. In this case, the warranty will become null and void.

You can descale the unit using any household descaling agent. Observe the manufacturer's instructions and comply with the operating manual.

Put in a filter bag so that lime residues are absorbed therein.

  • Switch the unit on.
  • Let the liquid flow through.
  • Dispose of the filter bag after completion of the operation and pour out the decalcification mixture.
  • Switch the unit off.
