SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Before use make sure to read all of the below instructions in order to avoid injury or damage, and to get the best results from the appliance. Make sure to keep this manual in a safe place. If you give or transfer this appliance to someone else make sure to also include this manual.

In case of damage caused by user failing to follow the instructions in this manual the warranty will be void. The manufacturer/importer accepts no liability for damages caused by failure to follow the manual, a negligent use or use not in accordance with the requirements of this manual.

1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
2. Children shall not play with the appliance.
3. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
4. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

5. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

6. CAUTION — some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.

7. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
8. WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
9. The heater must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet.
10. Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.
11. WARNING: This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
12. CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cutout, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.

1. Means "DO NOT COVER".
2. Before inserting the plug into the mains socket, please check that the voltage and frequency comply with the specifications on the rating label.
3. Always plug the appliance into an earthed plug socket.
4. Disconnect the mains plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use and before cleaning.
5. Ensure that the mains cable is not hung over sharp edges and keep it away from hot objects and open flames.

6. Do not immerse the appliance or the mains plug in water or other liquids. There is danger to life due to electric shock!

7. To remove the plug from the plug socket, pull the plug. Do not pull the power cord.

8. Do not touch the appliance if it falls into water. Remove the plug from its socket, turn off the appliance and send it to an authorized service center for repair.
9. Do not plug or unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet with a wet hand.
10. Never attempt to open the housing of the appliance, or to repair the appliance yourself. This could cause electric shock.
11. Never leave the appliance unattended during use.
12. This appliance is not designed for commercial use.
13. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
14. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
15. The unit must be positioned away from flammable or easily deformable objects during use.
16. This heating device is not suitable for assembling in vehicles and machines.
17. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
18. Never move the appliance by pulling the cord.
19. Keep the appliance at least 1m from walls and any other combustible materials.
20. Never use the appliance to dry clothes or any other similar items.
21. This appliance must not be used with an extension lead.

PLACEMENT

This appliance is designed to be placed on a hard, level surface. When positioning, please keep the following points in mind:

1. If you are placing the appliance in an alcove, make sure that there is at least 150mm of space on all sides to ensure good air circulation.
2. The appliance must not be located over a fixed electrical socket. The socket must always be accessible in order to disconnect the appliance from the electrical supply for maintenance.
3. Keep hearth rugs and other soft furnishings away from the front of the appliance. They could obstruct the free flow of hot air from the fan and damage both soft furnishings and appliance.

Warning: Never cover the appliance or obstruct the air outlet, this could cause overheating and consequently risk of fire.

USE

1. Plug in the appliance.

2. Select your desired working functions:

3. Switch (1): Switch on/off the power and flame effect

Note: This switch must be in the position "l" for unit to operate with or without heat.

• Switch (2): Switch on/off 1000W heat output
• Switch (3): Switch on/off additional 1000W heat output

Note: This switch cannot work separately. It must work together with switch (2).

1. Rotate the thermostat knob (4) clockwise or anticlockwise to increase or decrease your desired room temperature setting. Make sure it is set above the current room temperature. Otherwise, the appliance will not begin to heat.

Note: The flame effect can be operated with or without heat.

(The switches and the thermostat knob are located behind the switch cover.)

SAFETY CUT-OFF

This appliance is fitted with a safety cut-off which will operate if the appliance overheats (e.g. due to blocked air vents). For safety reasons, the appliance will NOT automatically reset. To reset the appliance, disconnect the appliance from the mains supply for at least 15 minutes. Reconnect and switch on the appliance.

MAINTENANCE

Before carrying out maintenance work, disconnect the appliance from the power supply!

Lamp replacement

Two lamps are located behind the back panel.

To gain access to the lamps, the two screws which secure the back panel must be removed. Remove and slide out panel.

Remove the faulty lamp by unscrewing it.

Replace with 25W E14 SES Clear Candle lamp.

Take care not to over-tighten the lamp.

Refit the back panel and secure with the two screws.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Before cleaning, always remove the plug from the electrical socket. Ensure that the unit is cool enough to work on.
• Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents to clean this product and avoid using abrasive cleaning agents.
• The appliance and screen need only to be wiped clean with a dry, soft cloth; do not use polishes or abrasive materials.
• Do not immerse in water or any liquid when you clean it.
• Use a slightly damp, lint-free cloth to clean this appliance.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

No heat or light: Check the wall socket by plugging in a working appliance. If socket is functional, and the cord or plug of the heater is suspected to be faulty, have it checked by an electrician.

Light but no heat: Check that the thermostat knob is set above the current room temperature. Alternatively, the safety cut-off may have engaged - see safety cut-off section.

Defects which arise due to improper handling of the device and malfunctions due to interventions and repairs by third parties or the fitting of non-original parts are not covered by this guarantee. Always keep your receipt, without the receipt you can't claim any form of warranty. Damage caused by not following the instruction manual, will lead to a void of warranty, if this results in consequential damages then we will not be liable. Neither can we hold responsible for material damage or personal injury caused by improper use if the instruction manual is not properly executed. Damage to accessories does not mean free replacement of the whole appliance. In such case please contact our service department. Broken glass or breakage of plastic parts is always subject to a charge. Defects to consumables or parts subjected to wearing, as well as cleaning, maintenance, replacement of said parts or shipping and transportation costs to and from any place of repair are not covered by the warranty and are to be paid.
