Frequently Asked Questions - iGen160s WESTINGHOUSE

How to charge the iGen160s power station?
Use the supplied AC adapter (15 V/2 A) by plugging the DC plug into the input located under the flashlight, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet. You can also charge it via a 12 V car charger (cigarette lighter) or a solar panel (13-25 V/2 A max). The blue LED indicators flash during charging and stay solid when fully charged.
What is the maximum AC output power?
The AC output provides 100 watts continuous and up to 150 watts peak (for a few seconds). Devices exceeding 150 W may cause an overload and shutdown of the unit.
Can I power a refrigerator or microwave?
No, these appliances typically require a startup power greater than 150 W and a pure sine wave. The iGen160s delivers a modified sine wave and is limited to 100 W continuous. It is not suitable for devices with AC motors.
How long does it take to recharge the battery?
With the 15 V/2 A AC adapter, the full charge time is approximately 6 hours. Charging via car or solar panel may vary depending on the source.
What to do if the power station goes into protection?
In case of short circuit or overload (exceeding 150 W), the power station shuts down automatically. Reduce the load (disconnect the overpowering device) and restart the power station by pressing the power button. Recharge if necessary.
Can I use the power station in cold weather?
Yes, the operating temperature is -10 °C to 40 °C. However, temperatures below 0 °C may reduce battery capacity. It is recommended to keep the unit in an insulated cooler connected to a power source (solar panels) to maintain performance.
How to use the flashlight and LED light panel?
Press the button next to the flashlight to turn it on/off. For the LED light panel, press once to turn on, a second press adjusts brightness, and a third turns off. Never shine the light directly into eyes.
What types of devices can I plug into the USB ports?
The USB ports are designed for smartphones, tablets, Bluetooth headphones, etc. The USB-A 5 V/2.1 A ports are standard, while the USB and USB-C ports support Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging (5-9 V/2 A). Some very low current devices (<150 mA) may not be detected; in that case, activate the AC output to maintain USB power.
How to maintain the battery to prolong its lifespan?
To maximize battery life (over 500 cycles), it is recommended to charge the battery every 3 months and at least once every 6 months if not used. Avoid complete discharges and store in a cool, dry place.
How to recycle the power station at end of life?
Do not throw the device in the trash. The lithium-ion battery and electronic components must be recycled at dedicated collection points (recycling center, electronics store). This helps protect the environment.

COLD WEATHER USE

Cold temperatures (below freezing) can affect the unit's battery capacity due to chemical characteristics of the battery. If you'll be living off-grid in sub-zero conditions, we recommend you keep your unit in an insulated cooler, and connected to a power source (solar panels). The natural heat generated by the unit contained in an insulated cooler will keep battery capacity at its highest.
