Frequently Asked Questions - WE 16 STEBA

What to do if the light does not turn on after plugging in?
First check that the plug is properly inserted and the outlet is powered. Check the circuit breaker fuse. If the red light still does not come on, the appliance may be defective: contact after-sales service.
Why does the batter overflow onto the work surface?
You probably put too much batter. Fill the plate with a ladle, without excess, and close the lid while pressing briefly to distribute evenly.
How to adjust the temperature to get well-browned waffles?
Use the continuous adjustment from 1 to 3: 1 for light waffles, 2 for golden, 3 for dark. Also adjust the cooking time (4-5 minutes) to your taste.
Can I use metal utensils to remove waffles?
No, only use wooden or heat-resistant plastic utensils to avoid scratching the non-stick coating.
How to clean the waffle maker after use?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Wipe the plates with paper towels. Clean the housing with a damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water and do not use abrasive products.
What to do if the non-stick coating is scratched?
Scratches are not covered by the warranty as they result from using unsuitable utensils. To avoid worsening, continue to use wooden or plastic accessories.
Does the outside of the appliance get very hot?
Yes, the outer surfaces become very hot during operation. Risk of burns. Only move the appliance after cooling and maintain a distance of at least 70 cm from flammable materials.
Can I use an extension cord?
Yes, but the extension cord must have a minimum cross-section of 1.5 mm². If using a power strip, ensure it is GS certified and do not exceed 3680 W total to avoid fire.
Can we prepare other recipes than sweet waffles?
Yes, the manual also gives a recipe for savory waffles with ham and cheese. You can vary the ingredients: grated apples, raisins, olives, etc. Let the batter rest for 30 minutes before cooking.
Why is the first waffle not edible?
During first use, it is recommended to dispose of the first waffle for hygiene reasons: it may absorb manufacturing or cleaning residues.

Preparation of waffles

Plug in the device, the red lamp turns on and indicates that the device is plugged in. Choose the desired temperature and close the lid. The temperature is reached if the green light shines. You can start now. The lamp clocks between red and green. For baking, the dough should be fluid. Slightly grease the plates. Add small quantities of dough on the waffle plate and close the device and slightly pinch so that the dough is spread evenly.

Do not fill in too much dough!

The temperature can be set infinitely variable from 1 to 3:

1 = bright waffles
2 = brown waffles
3 = dark waffles

Baking time: ca. 4 - 5 minutes (dependent on your taste)

To remove the waffles, use only wood or heat resistant plastic cutlery.

Unplug once the baking is completed. Us all dough as it changes its structure and contains eggs!

When first used, the first waffle is not edible for reasons of hygiene!
