USER MANUAL WT 8900 Techno Line
Start the clock and restart Insert 1 x Mignon AA LR06 battery into the battery compartment and make sure the battery polarity (+/-) is as indicated. The hands (second, minute, hour) are adjusting to 12 o’clock and the clock enters into reception mode. Signal reception mode The time base for the radio controlled time is a Caesium Atomic Clock, operated by the Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt in Braunschweig, which has a time deviation of less than one second in one million years. The time is coded and transmitted from Mainflingen near Frankfurt via frequency signal DCF-77 (77.5 kHz). Your radio-controlled clock receives this signal and converts it to show the precise time in summer or wintertime. The quality of reception depends greatly on the geographic location. In normal cases, there should be no reception problems within a 1500 km radius around Frankfurt. a. Automatic signal reception: The automatic signal reception starts by inserting the battery. After 2 to 10 minutes the hands will be adjusted to the correct radio controlled time according to the DCF-77 reception signal. b. Manual signal reception: Press and hold the REC button for more than 4 seconds to start the manual signal reception. The hands (second, minute, hour) are adjusting to 12 o’clock8 and the clock enters into reception mode. If the signal is successfully received, the hands adjust automatically to the correct radio controlled time. This procedure takes approximately 2 to 10 minutes. If the signal reception is failed, the clock continues working from the original time. After the next successful signal reception the time will be adjusted to the correct radio controlled time according to the DCF-77 reception signal. Environmental reception effects The clock obtains the accurate time with wireless technology. Same as all wireless devices, the reception can be affected by the following circumstances: long transmitting distance nearby mountains and valleys near freeway, railway, airports, high voltage cable etc. near construction site among tall buildings inside concrete buildings near electrical appliances (computers, TV’s, etc) and metallic structures inside moving vehicles Place the clock at a location with optimal signal, e.g. close to a window and away from metal surfaces or electrical appliances.9 Manual time setup (if no DCF-77 signal can be received) Press and hold the M.SET button for more than 4 seconds to start the manual time setting. The minute hand starts running forward. Hold the M.SET button pressed until the desired time is set. If you press the M.SET button briefly, the minute hand moves forward each time at each press by one minute. If the M.SET button is not pressed for longer than 8 seconds, the setting is considered complete. After the next successful signal reception the time will be adjusted to the correct radio controlled time according to the DCF-77 reception signal. Notes: Replace the battery after one year, to guarantee the correct function of the clock. Maintenance and repairs must be performed by an expert or a specialist workshop.
