  1. Place the slow cooker base on dry, flat, level, heat resistant surface.

  • The cook pot and glass lid should be washed in hot, soapy water, rinsed and dried.

NOTE: The cook pot and glass lid are dishwasher-safe.

  • Allow the cooking pot to cool prior to cleaning. Thermal shock (placing HOT bowl on cold surface or filling with cold water) can result in cracking of the pot. Soak the pot in warm water for several minutes to remove tough residue.
  • DO NOT use metal scouring pads, abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals to clean your slow cooker, as these could damage the finishes.

WARNING: Never immerse the entire slow cooker in water or any other liquid as this will damage the slow cooker and void the warranty.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

  • Always ensure that the slow cooker is unplugged and in the OFF position before storing or cleaning.
  • Make sure the appliance has cooled down completely before cleaning or storing.
  • Store the appliance in a clean, cool, dry area out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance when storing.
  • Do not place any heavy objects on top of the appliance during storage.
  • Save the packaging for transporting or storage of the appliance when not in use for extended periods of time.

DISPOSAL:

  • This appliance may not be disposed of with ordinary household waste. Electrical and electronic waste must be disposed of properly.
  • Contact your municipal authorities for further information on product disposal.
  • The ceramic cook pot should be at least half full for optimal results.
  • Most meat and vegetable recipes require 8-10 hours on LOW and 4-6 on HIGH.
  • Vegetables usually take longer to cook than meat. Cut vegetables into small, even pieces and arrange in the lower half of the ceramic cook pot.
  • Slow cooking retains moisture. If you wish to reduce the moisture content in the cooker, remove the lid and turn the control knob to high (if set at LOW or WARM) and simmer for an additional 30-40 minutes.
  • All food should be covered with a sauce, gravy or liquid. In a separate pan or dish, prepare your sauce, gravy or liquid and completely cover the food in the ceramic cook pot.
  • The glass lid is not a sealed fit. Removing the glass lid allows the built up heat to escape. Each time the lid is removed, an additional 10 minutes should be added to the cooking time.
  • If cooking soups, leave a small amount of space between the ceramic cook pot and the food surface to allow for simmering. Do not overfill.
  • Many causes can affect how quickly a recipe will cook, always consider the initial temperature of the food, size of food and water/fat content when slow cooking.
  • Save time by preparing recipe ingredients the night before. Store the prepared food in a covered container in the refrigerator. Transfer the food to the ceramic cook pot and add gravy or liquid. Turn the control knob to desired setting.
  • Once food is cooked, switch the cooker off and leave covered with the glass lid. There will be sufficient heat in the cook pot to keep the food warm for 30 minutes. If more time is required to keep the food warm, turn cooker to LOW setting.
  • Never leave uncooked food at room temperature in the slow cooker.
  • Do not use the cooker to reheat food.
