Frequently Asked Questions - AHS 1865 V METABO

Which battery to use with the Metabo AHS 1865 V?
Use a Metabo CAS (Cordless Alliance System) compatible 18 V Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 1.3 Ah to 10 Ah. Suitable chargers are the ASC and SC models listed in the manual.
How to change the hedge trimmer blade?
To change the blade, disconnect the battery, remove the fixing screws, replace the worn blade with a new original Metabo blade, then screw back. Refer to the manual for tightening torques.
What to do if the battery does not charge?
Check that the battery is inserted correctly and the charger is plugged in. The warning indicator (4) solid on indicates temperature out of range (0-50 °C); blinking means battery defective. If the problem persists, contact Metabo customer service.
How to clean the hedge trimmer?
After each use, clean the blades with a soft brush and soapy water. Dry thoroughly and apply a thin layer of lubricating oil. Never immerse the device in water.
What is the battery runtime?
Runtime depends on battery capacity and branch thickness. With a 4 Ah battery, expect about 60 minutes in normal use. Larger capacity batteries offer longer runtime.
Can I use a battery from another CAS brand?
Yes, the Metabo AHS 1865 V is compatible with all batteries from the CAS (Cordless Alliance System) of partner brands, provided they are 18 V Li-Ion.
How to store the device in winter?
Remove the battery, clean and lubricate the blades, then store the hedge trimmer in a dry place, protected from frost and humidity. Ideally, use the Metabo wall mount.
What to do if the machine jams?
Immediately release the trigger, remove the battery, then clear the branches stuck in the blades using a non-conductive tool. Check that the blade is not damaged before resuming.
How to adjust the blade tension?
This model is equipped with an automatic tension system. No manual adjustment is necessary. If the blade seems loose, have it checked by a Metabo authorized repairer.
Where to find spare parts?
Spare parts (blade, battery, charger, etc.) are available from Metabo dealers or at www.metabo.com. Always use original parts to ensure safety.
