How to connect my iPhone to Apple CarPlay wirelessly?

For a wireless connection, make sure the iPhone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled. First, register the iPhone via the USB port (black) or from the Apple CarPlay device list in the AV menu. Then, when selecting the Apple CarPlay source, choose the registered iPhone from the device list. The wireless connection requires the GPS antenna and speed pulse input to be connected.

How to set the clock automatically with GPS?

Go to the SETUP menu > User Interface. Set Clock to GPS-SYNC. The time synchronizes automatically with GPS signals. You can also choose Manual for manual adjustment.

What to do if the unit displays 'Mecha Error'?

This is a disc player malfunction. Try ejecting the disc by holding the ▲ button for 2 seconds, then touch DISC EJECT. If the problem persists, contact your Kenwood dealer.

How to clean the screen and front panel?

Use a soft dry cloth (silicone type). For stubborn stains, lightly dampen the cloth with a neutral cleaning product, then wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use solvents (alcohol, gasoline) or rough cloth that could damage the surface.

Can I use a USB flash drive with video files?

Yes, the unit plays MPEG-1/2, H.264, WMV and MKV video files (max size 1920×1080, bitrate 8 Mbps). The USB drive must be formatted in FAT16, FAT32, exFAT or NTFS. Connect it to a USB port, select the USB source, then touch the video icon in the list.

How to set the security code?

Press MENU, touch SETUP, then Security. Enable Security Code Set and enter a 4 or 8 digit code. Confirm by re-entering it. Note that the code cannot be changed once activated, and the function cannot be disabled without the code.

Why is the sound cut off or very low?

Check that the volume is not at 0 or in attenuated mode (ATT). Make sure the MUTE function is not enabled. If you are using a speaker with impedance lower than 4 Ω, the protection circuit may activate. Refer to the Troubleshooting section of the manual.

How to use the DVD menu during playback?

During DVD playback, touch the key display area to show the control screen. Touch MENU CTRL to access the disc menu. Use the TOP (main menu), MENU, Return, Enter keys and direction arrows. You can also activate highlight control by touching Highlight.

How to update the unit's firmware?

System updates are available at http://www.kenwood.com/cs/ce/. Download the latest firmware version and follow the provided instructions. It is recommended to check for updates regularly to benefit from new features.

What to do if the screen remains black after power-on?

Check that the unit is properly powered (battery voltage 12 V). If the screen was intentionally turned off (Display OFF mode), touch the screen to reactivate. If the problem persists, check the cable connections and fuse. Refer to the manual for detailed troubleshooting.
