Safety Instructions

Intended use

• This appliance is for drying foods such as fruit, vegetable and meat.
• It is solely designed for this purpose and may be used only for this purpose. It must be used only the way-described in the instructin manual.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  Children should be supervised and not play with this appliance.

Appliance

To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and damage:

• Never explode the unit to rain.

• Use only the recommended accessories.

• Do not repair the device yourself. Turn to qualified service specialists for maintenance.
• Do not drop heavy metal objects into this appliance.
• Do not put heavy objects on this appliance.

Power cord/power supply unit

To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and damage:

• Ensure that the voltage of the power supply corresponds the rated voltage of the appliance.
• Insert the plug properly and completely into the socket.
• Do not pull on the power cord. Do not bend it. Do not place heavy objects on it.
• Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
• Grip the plug on its housing.
• Do not use damaged plugs or a damaged socket.

Placement

Place the device on a dry, level, water-and-heat-resistant surface.

• Look for an installation location where children cannot reach the hot surfaces of the appliance.
• The socket must be easily accessible, in order to be able to separate the appliance quickly from the power supply.
• Install or position the device not a book shelf, built-in cupboard or any other narrow space. Ensure a good aring of the appliance.
• Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight, high temperatures, high humidity and excessive vibrations.

Transport of the appliance

• Please keep the original packaging. To ensure sufficient protection when transporting the appliance, repack it in the original packing.

Cleaning on the outside surface

Do not use volatile liquids, such as insecticide or some types of cleaner. Pressing too hard when wiping cam damage the surface. Rubber or plastic parts should not touch the appliance for a longer time.

Repairs

• Repairs to the appliance should only be done by an authorized service centre.
• Modifying or changing the product affects the product safety. Danger of injuries!
• Never open the product by yourself and never carry out repairs on your own! A faulty assembly can lead to malfunctioning or a complete failure.
• Open the appliance under no circumstances.

Use

1. Before initial usage of electric dehydrator, clean the steaming rack and wipe it clean with dry cleaning cloth.
2. Evenly put the pretreated food on each layer of steaming grid, place the steaming grid with food on the base of product, and then cover the steaming lid.
3. Plug the power line into the socket, switch on power, and press down the switch in order to let the product be in a status of operation. When the indicator light of switch goes on, obvious wind will blow out from small holes of steaming lid.
4. Adjust the temperature knob to the temperature value that is applicable for food drying.
5. Dry the food according to different food and personal taste and other demand.
6. After the drying of food, adjust the temperature knob to the lowest position, switch off the power and pull out the plug.

Important notes:

• The maximum using time should not exceed 72 hours each time, in order not to affect the service life of the complete machine.
  Each time after using, please adjust the temperature knob to the lowest position, turn off the power switch and pull out the socket.
• Water or any other liquid cannot be added into the product. Few water drop is allowed to be left on food inside the container of steaming grid.
• Do not place too heavy foods on the steaming rack, and the food cannot be placed overlapping.
• In order to evenly dry the food, please regularly exchange the position of steaming racks.

• When the machine begins to work, please ensure that the steaming lid is in the correct position.

• Please conduct pretreatment of food before drying, such as cleaning, slicing or stripping, soaking, etc.

Tipps for food preparation

Pre-treatment of foods

Fruit: You produce especaily good results when you soak fruit to be dryed in juice in advance.

Vegetable: Blanch, cook or fry the vegetables. Put the vegetables into the lemon juice and soak for about 2 minutes.

Meat: Pickle lean meat at before drying. Fat meat should be shortly backes or steamed beforehand.

Fish: Fish should be shortly backed or steamed before drying.

Vanilla: Clean the vanilla pod and remove the excess leaves. The duration for drying the vanilla pods is normally 2-6 hours.

Bread: Cut bread into thin slices.

Maintenance

Cleaning

• Before cleaning, pull the power plug.
• Clean the inlays lean the steaming grids with warm water and a soft cloth.

Warning: Danger of electrical shock

Do not immerse the appliance in water.

Storage

Store the device in a heated and well-aired room.
