BEFORE THE FIRST USE

Read these operating instructions thoroughly and keep them handy for referral16 later on. This unit brings water to boil in a few minutes. ● To clean the unit, rst ll the unit with clear, cold water and then boil it. Subsequently pour away the water because of hygenical reasons. OPERATION ● Take hold of the base station and unwind the cable as far as it goes. ● Plug the plug into the electric socket. ● Open the lid and ll the unit with water. ● Fill in 1.5 litre maxi- mal. ● Close the lid. ● Put the unit back onto the base station and push the ON-/OFF switch. The indicator lights blue and the unit is switched on. Important: Do not open the lid during the boiling process. Make sure you do not exceed the internal maximum lling level mark. Fill the unit so that the water level is denitely between the minimum and maximum indicator line. ● As soon as boiling stops, the unit automatically shuts off. ● The indicator light extinguishes. ● If desired, you can press the on/off switch again to boil the water once more. However, before doing that, please wait about 30 sec. after the unit automatically shut itself off.17

This unit is equipped with a dry running and overheating protection system. If you ever operate the unit without any water or with too little water, the unit shuts itself off. Wait a moment until the unit has cooled off. Fill the unit with water and continue as usual. LIFT-OFF SHUT-OFF If you happen to lift the unit off the base station while boiling, the unit shuts itself off. This is the so-called lift-off shut-off. CLEANING First pull the plug out of the electric socket and let the unit cool off. Clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, moist cloth. If heavily soiled, you can use a mild detergent. DECALCIFYING Depending on the hardness degree of the water, lime scale can build up over time on the bottom and on the interior wall of the stainless steel tank. The harder the water, the faster the lime scale builds up. That is harmless but it can impair the performance of the unit. For that reason, we recommend regularly decalcifying the unit as follows ● Fill the unit three-quarters full with water. ● Boil it. ● After the unit has shut itself off, ll the unit additionally with distilled white vinegar up to the MAX mark. Important: Never boil this mixture! ● Let the mixture stand overnight. ● Empty the unit and rinse it out several times with clear water.
