2. Instructions for use, safety instructions, care and maintenance
Warning! Children are often unable to recognise dangerous situations and are thus at risk of injury. Please note the following:
- Never leave small children unattended and in close proximity to hot cooking utensils.
- Do not leave packaging or protective film within reach of children. These materials are not toys.
- Before every use, check the base of the pot and the glass ceramic hob for any residue. Even slight contamination can leave scratches on the glass ceramic hob.
- Do not leave oil or fat unattended!
- Do not extinguish burning oil or fat with water, instead use a blanket or a suitable fire extinguisher!
- Overheating can damage the hob and cooking utensils; do not leave an empty pot on a hot hob for an extended period of time.
- Never add salt to cold water before heating, this can lead to material damage. For the same reason, we recommend that you do not store salty food in the pot. Caution! The handles will become hot. Please use oven mitts.
- Do not shock the hot lid with cold water.
- Place the hot pot on suitable table mats to protect the table and tablecloth.
- Never use abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents and never cut the food directly in the pot as this may damage the surface. Note: The supplier is not liable for any damage caused due to non-observance of the care and maintenance instructions. The right of recourse is excluded on these grounds.
2.2 Instructions for use
- Completely remove any stickers.
- Before using the pot for the first time, boil water with some household vinegar 2 to 3 times, then clean thoroughly with hot water and a commercially available washing-up liquid. Then rinse the pot with water and dry well.
- When using the asparagus pot: Fill the pot with water and allow the water to boil before adding salt. Only add the salt to hot water, stirring continuously. Do not add salt to cold water as this may corrode the base of the pot.
- When using the product for frying or deep-frying: – Butter and margarine should not be used at temperatures greater than 160°C. Substances such as water, salt and milk protein heat quickly and thus also affect the flavour of your food. – Oils, normal fats and concentrated butter do not contain water or additives. They may be heated at a maximum temperature of 220°C.10 – Hydrogenated vegetable fats are suitable for searing food at max. 280°C.
- Handles that are screwed on may become loose. If necessary, tighten these using a standard screwdriver.
- The glass lid is heat-resistant up to 160°C.
- Never use sharp objects and never cut or slice food in the pot in order to avoid damaging the surface. To turn the contents of the pot, only use wooden or plastic utensils. Tip: When cooking, match the diameter of the pot to the size of the hob in order to save energy. To save energy when using a gas stove, do not let the flames project beyond the base of the pot.
2.3 Care instructions
- After use, clean the pot as soon as possible using hot water and washing-up liquid, before drying. Note: All parts are suitable for dishwasher use. Cleaning the pot in the dishwasher may lead to surface discolouration. This will not, however, restrict usability.
- Shimmering, multicoloured discolouration caused by washing-up liquid or stains on the base of the pot (limescale) can removed using a soft cloth and household vinegar/citric acid. Recommended: When removing the pot from the dishwasher, dry it thoroughly with a towel before putting it away. In this way, you will avoid any stains.
- Briefly boil soapy water and use a washing-up brush to remove stubborn food residue. Do not use any hard objects, wire wool or scouring powder.
3. In the case of use on induction hobs
The effective induction diameter of the base is approx. 14.7 cm. PLEASE NOTE! High heating-up rate – do not overheat cookware when preheating. If overheating does occur, please ventilate the room sufficiently.
- Under certain conditions, a sound may be emitted due to the electromagnetic properties of the heat source and the cookware. This is completely normal and is not the result of any defect in your induction hob or the cookware.
- The cookware should be placed in the centre of the induction hob ring.
- Do not touch the glass-ceramic surface immediately after cooking because the hob will be hot from the residual heat from the base of the cookware. Always keep children at a distance.11
Do not dispose of the product in domestic waste.
Dispose of the packaging according to the environmental regulations applicable in your country.
