USER MANUAL Danko 30911 PALSON
Our products have been developed to have the highest standards in quality, performance and design. We hope that you enjoy your new DANKO water kettle from PALSON.
Please read these instructions carefully before using this product.
Important safety instructions:
Take the following precautions to reduce the risk of accidents:
- Before connecting the kettle to the power supply, make sure that the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the electric outlet voltage.
- Connect the appliance to a grounded outlet only.
- This kettle features an overheating protection switch to protect it against damages caused by using it without sufficient water. It shuts down the electric current upon overheating.
If the kettle runs out of water and stops working, unplug it and fill it with enough water before plugging it again.
- Place the 'kettle' on a flat and stable surface. Make sure that the kettle submerged into water or any other liquids.
- Do not use the kettle without its lid properly closed.
- The kettle will turn off automatically when the water reaches 100^ . You may turn off the kettle manually before the water boils by using the on/off switch.
- Fill the kettle with water first, close the lid and place it on the electric base and then plug it in.
Use the kettle only to heat water.
- This product is not meant to be used by children or other people without assistance or supervision if their physical, sensorial or mental state limits their capacity to operate the appliance safely. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with this product.
- Do not overfill the kettle or pressurized water could escape. Do not fill above the MAX mark.
- Do not touch the hot surfaces of the kettle or the hot vapour.
This appliance works only with the enclosed base/electric feeder (3).
Before cleaning, unplug it and let it cool. Do not submerge in water or any other liquid under any circumstances.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorised service centre or a qualified technician in order to prevent hazards.
This product is for domestic use only.
- This appliance comes with a filter to avoid allowing an excess of particulates and lime scale to flow out of the product.
You should not reheat the same water again and again, it is advisable to change the water and then boil it again.
This appliance should only be used for the purposes described in the instruction manual. Do not use accessories that have not been recommended by the manufacturer.
The power cord should be kept away from hot surfaces.
- Do not coil the cable around the appliance. Use the cable holder (8).
- Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.
- Do not disassemble the appliance. Avoid damaging the product.
- Do not place the base unit on a metallic surface.
- Do not use the kettle for anything other than boiling water.
- Do not use the kettle outside.
Do not place on or near a gas or electric cooker, or a hot oven.
CAUTION - As with most electrical most appliances, the electrical components are active even when the power switch is off.
Note: Read these instructions and safety advice carefully.
Keep this instruction manual for future reference.
- Never pull the power cord or the appliance.
- To plug in, hold the plug firmly and insert it in the socket.
- To 'unplug the appliance, take hold the plug and pull it out of the socket.
- Before each use, examine the lead for nicks and/or scratches. If there are any, the
appliance should be serviced and the power cord replaced by a qualified technician or a qualified technician.
- Never coil the power cord tightly around the appliance, as this could put too much strain on the power cord where it connects to the appliance and cause rubbing and/ or breakage. Use the cable holder (8).
- Do not let the feeder cable hang over the edge of a counter.
Never operate the appliance if the power cord is damaged or if it malfunctions, functions intermittently or stops functioning altogether.
SAFETY
For additional protection, we recommend installing a residual current device (RCD) with a rated tripping current of 30mA . When in doubt, consult an electrician.
Unplug the kettle when not in use.
BEFORE USING THE KETTLE
Throw out the water used for the first boil. The appliance is now ready for use.
KETTLE OPERATION
- To fill the kettle with water, remove it from its electric base, remove the lid and fill with the desired amount of water. Fill the kettle without filling past the MAX mark. If you fill it with a small amount of water, the heater will turn off before boiling. NOTE: the water must not exceed the maximum level as it may spill from the spout upon boiling. Make sure that the lid is properly closed and in place before plugging the electric cable.
- Place the kettle on the electric base.
- Plug in to the wall socket. Press the ON/OFF switch located below the handle. The blue indicator light will turn on. Then the water will begin to boil. Te kettle will switch off automatically when the water reaches its boiling point.
- Lift the kettle from its electric base and then pour the water. NOTE: when pouring, do it carefully as the boiling water could burn you. Make sure that the electric current is off when the boiler is not in use.
- The kettle will not boil again until the ON/OFF switch is pressed again. The kettle can be stored on its electric base when not in use. NOTE: make sure the electric base (3) is unplugged from the wall socket.
CLEANING
Unplug the kettle before cleaning.
Do not submerge the kettle or its electric base in water or any other liquids.
The kettle may be cleaned with a soft damp cloth after unplugging. Do not use chemical cleaners.
Soap or detergent can be used to clean stains. Do not use highly acidic cleaning products.
Make sure to dry the power cord on the base and the kettle well before using again.
Do not forget to regularly clean the filter with a damp cloth.
CLEANING LIMESCALE
The inside of the kettle may become stained by lime present in tap water. To remove lime scale, use a non-toxic cleaner.
Or also:
- Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and water and let it stand overnight. Do not boil.
- Empty the boiler. Any stains left on the spout may be removed with a damp cloth. Fill the kettle with clean water, boil it and throw away the water. Repeat once and it will be ready for use again.
STORAGE
Unplug the device, let cool and store in a clean, dry place.
Never coil the power cord tightly around the appliance; this could cause premature
rubbing and/or breakage of the power cable.
Do not pull excessively on the cable where it enters the body of the kettle as this could cause rubbing and/or breakage of the power cable.
Do not hang the appliance by its power cord.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
When you dispose of this product, recycle it according to local laws.
Discarded electrical appliances should not be disposed of along with household waste.
This appliance should be taken to your local recycling centre for safe treatment.
