CORD SAFETY TIPS

  1. Never pull the cord or the appliance.
  2. To put the plug into the socket, hold it firmly and guide it into the socket.
  3. To unplug the appliance, grip the plug and pull it from the socket. Before each use, inspect the cord for cuts or abrasion. If you find any, you should have appliance checked and the cord should be replaced by a qualified technician or an official PALSON technical assistance service.
  4. Never wind the supply cord around the appliance as this could cause excessive tension on the cord in the area where it enters the appliance and could cause abrasion or breaks. The cable tidy (7) is located at the base of the product.
  5. Do not allow the power cable to hang over the edge of the counter where a child could reach it.
  6. Do not operate the appliance if the cord shows any signs of damage, if any defect is noticed during use, if the appliance works intermittently or stops working altogether.

SAFETY

For extra protection it is recommended to install a residual current device (RCD) with a leakage current of 30 mA. In case of doubt, consult an electrician. Unplug the kettle when not in use.

BEFORE USING THE KETTLE

  1. Remove all packaging material from the appliance. The plastic wrapping may cause suffocation, so ensure that all packaging material is out of the reach of babies and young children.
  2. Make sure the appliance is unplugged from the power supply.
  3. Do not use the appliance if the cord of the kettle or its base shows deterioration or damage.
  4. Rinse the interior of the kettle with water.
  1. To fill the kettle with water, first remove it from the electrical base. Then open the lid (8) by pressing the opening button (1) and fill with the desired quantity of water, without filling above the interior MAX mark (5). If you only fill with a little water, the kettle will switch off before the water has boiled. NOTE: The water must not be above the maximum level as it may emerge from the spout when it boils. Make sure that the lid (1) is correctly closed before plugging in the appliance.

  2. Place the kettle on the electrical base (6).

  3. Plug in the appliance. The On/Off indicator light (3), located under the handle, will go red. When the water reaches boiling point, the kettle will switch off automatically.
  4. Lift the kettle off the electrical base and pour the water.

NOTE: Carefully pour the water from the kettle, as boiling water can cause burns. Make sure the power is switched off when the kettle is not in use.

CLEANING

  • Unplug the kettle before cleaning.
  • Never completely or partially immerse the kettle or the electrical base in water or any other liquid.
  • The kettle can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth after unplugging it. Do not use abrasive cleaning products.
  • Dry the kettle and the electric cord of the base well before using again.

REMOVING LIMESCALE

The lime in tap water can make the inside of the kettle lose its colour. To remove lime scale build-up, use a non-toxic cleaner.

Alternatively:

  1. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and the rest with water and leave overnight. Do not boil. Empty the kettle.

  2. Any stains remaining in the nozzle can be removed by rubbing with a damp cloth. Fill the kettle with clean water, boil it, and then throw out the water. Repeat this operation and the kettle is ready for use again.

CLEANING THE CASING

Clean the casing with a damp cloth, never use an abrasive or corrosive cleaner.

CLEANING THE FILTER

Remember to clean the filter regularly with a damp cloth.
