Frequently Asked Questions - TRSL 380 Orbegozo

Do all thermoses maintain the same temperature?
No. The type of material (plastic, stainless steel...), the type of closure (sealing gasket...), the size and thickness of the walls are determining factors. Models with double-walled steel with vacuum chamber and gasket offer the best thermal efficiency.
What other factors influence temperature retention?
Besides the thermos features, the type of food (semi-solids like purees retain heat better than solids), the initial temperature of the food, the quantity, and the ambient temperature play an important role.
Where to place baby porridge to keep it warm better?
Use a thermos with a screw cap and gasket. Preheat the thermos with boiling water, empty it, then quickly fill to 80% of its capacity. Do not open the lid until serving.
What to do if the thermos is vacuum-sealed and impossible to open?
Heat the cap with a hairdryer or immerse the upside-down thermos in hot water (not boiling) to expand the lid and make it easier to open.
Black spots have appeared in my thermos. Are they toxic?
No, these spots are harmless. They are caused by food components such as salt, iron, or sugar. To remove them, fill the thermos with hot water mixed with 10% vinegar, let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinse.
Can I put carbonated drinks in the thermos?
No. The gas pressure can damage the gasket or cause leakage. Also avoid fermented liquids.
Can I use the thermos in the microwave?
No, never place the thermos in the microwave, an electric oven, or on a direct heat source. The plastic of the lid can melt and the steel can damage the appliance.
Can I put baby milk in it?
It is not recommended to use this thermos for breast milk or baby formula due to the risk of bacterial growth in a warm environment. Use a specially designed container.
How to clean the inside of the thermos?
Wash the inside after each use with warm water and liquid soap, using a soft-bristle brush. Rinse thoroughly. Do not use abrasive pads, bleach, or dishwasher.
Does the thermos keep cold as well as hot?
Yes, thanks to the double insulating wall, the thermos maintains both hot and cold temperatures. For cold, you can add ice cubes.
