Frequently Asked Questions - DO711K DOMO

How to prepare an espresso with my Domo DO711K machine?
Fill the water tank between MIN and MAX. Insert the appropriate filter (small for one cup, large for two) into the filter holder, fill with ground coffee and tamp with the measuring spoon. Place the filter holder under the brewing head, turn the handle to the right until the lock closes. Turn on the appliance, turn the selection knob to the coffee symbol, place a cup and press the espresso or double espresso button. The coffee flows and stops automatically.
How to froth milk with the steam nozzle?
Turn on the appliance and turn the selection knob to the center (position 'o'). Press the steam button to preheat. When the indicator stays on, fill a pitcher with cold milk. Turn the selection knob to the steam symbol, immerse the nozzle a few millimeters into the milk and froth by moving the pitcher up and down. Once the foam is obtained, return the knob to 'o'. Clean the nozzle after use.
How to adjust the coffee volume for cups?
By default, the espresso button gives 40 ml and the double espresso 80 ml. To change, insert an empty filter into the filter holder, tighten it on the appliance, turn the selection knob to the coffee symbol. Press the button to be programmed and hold it down until the desired volume is reached (between 25 and 100 ml for espresso, up to 200 ml for double). Release to save.
How to descale the DO711K machine?
Fill the tank with 1/4 vinegar and 3/4 water up to MAX. Attach an empty filter, remove the drip tray and place a container under the brewing head. Turn the knob to the coffee symbol, hold the steam button for 5 seconds. The procedure lasts 5 minutes (buttons flash). Then place the container under the steam nozzle, turn the knob to the steam symbol for descaling the nozzle (5 minutes). Then rinse thoroughly.
What to do if the appliance does not heat up or does not turn on?
Check that the appliance is plugged into a working outlet and that the on/off switch is pressed. Ensure the selection knob is not in position 'o' (if so, turn it to coffee or steam). If the problem persists, contact Domo customer service at +32 14 21 71 91.
How to clean the steam nozzle?
After each use, wipe the nozzle with a damp cloth. For deep rinsing, run warm water by turning the selection knob to steam and pressing the espresso button without milk. Caution: the nozzle may be hot.
Why does water flow into the drip tray?
This is normal: during heating, a little water is expelled through a pipe at the bottom of the appliance. This also happens when you turn the selection knob to position 'o'. The tray collects this water. Remember to empty it regularly.
Can I use regular ground coffee or only espresso coffee?
It is recommended to use finely ground coffee for espresso. Too coarse a grind will give a weak espresso with little crema. Tamp firmly with the measuring spoon pusher.
How to restore the factory settings of the machine?
Turn off the appliance. Attach a filter holder with an empty filter. Turn the selection knob to the steam symbol. Press and hold both the steam and espresso buttons simultaneously, then turn on the switch while holding them. Both espresso buttons flash. Turn the knob to 'o', turn off, then turn on again. The three buttons flash red/blue. Turn the knob to coffee and run water. The default volumes (40/80 ml) are restored.
What to do if the coffee is too weak or too strong?
Check the grind: it should be fine and tamped evenly. Increase the amount of coffee for a stronger taste, or decrease it for a milder coffee. You can also change the programmed cup volume (see volume adjustment).
Make sure the filter is not clogged and the water tank is clean and filled.

What does the red light on the DOMO DO711K coffee machine mean and how can I fix it?
Frequently Asked Questions - 27/04/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The red light on the DOMO DO711K coffee machine generally indicates a problem that requires special attention. Here are the most common causes and solutions to try:

1. Check the water reservoir

Make sure the water reservoir is filled. If the level is too low or empty, the machine may trigger the red light. Fill it up and restart the machine.

2. Check the coffee

Ensure that the coffee compartment contains enough ground coffee or beans depending on the model. A lack of coffee can prevent the machine from functioning properly.

3. Clean the machine

A buildup of residue or a clogged filter can cause the red light to turn on. Thoroughly clean the filter holder, nozzles, and other accessible parts.

4. Wait for preheating

The red light may also indicate that the machine is in heating phase. Wait a few minutes to see if the light turns off automatically.

5. Other issues

If the red light remains on despite these checks, it may be a more serious technical problem. In this case, it is advisable to contact customer service or a professional for a thorough diagnosis.
