Frequently Asked Questions - DAC060BHUWDB DANBY

What area can the DANBY DAC060BHUWDB air conditioner cool?
The DAC060BHUWDB is designed to cool rooms up to 250 sq. ft. (approximately 23 m²), making it ideal for a bedroom, office, or small living room. For best results, ensure the room is isolated by closing doors and windows.
What is Danby's Silencer technology?
Silencer technology is a patented system by Danby that reduces the unit's noise level to just 41 dB. This makes it particularly suitable for bedrooms, as this noise level is comparable to a quiet conversation. The compressor and fan are optimized to minimize vibrations.
How do I set the 24-hour timer on the DAC060BHUWDB?
Press the Timer button on the remote control or the control panel to access the programmable timer. Set the desired start and/or stop time using the arrow keys. The timer allows you to program the unit up to 24 hours in advance, helping you save energy by avoiding unnecessary operation.
How do I clean the air filter on the DAC060BHUWDB?
Remove the filter by pulling the front panel of the unit. Rinse the filter with lukewarm water and a bit of mild soap, then let it dry completely in the air before reinstalling it. Cleaning every 2 to 4 weeks is recommended to maintain cooling performance and air quality.
The unit is no longer cooling sufficiently, what should I do?
First, check that the air filter is clean, as a clogged filter greatly reduces efficiency. Ensure that the set temperature is lower than the ambient temperature, and that the room does not exceed 23 m². Also, check that the air intake and outlet are not blocked. If the problem persists, the R410A refrigerant may need to be checked by a certified technician.
Why is water leaking from the unit?
Slight condensation and water drainage to the outside are normal: it is the result of moisture extracted from the indoor air. Ensure that the unit is slightly tilted outward (about 1 cm) to facilitate drainage. If water leaks inside, readjust the tilt during window installation.
What electrical supply do I need for the DAC060BHUWDB?
The unit operates on a standard 115 V / 60 Hz outlet and consumes 4.3 A. It is recommended to plug it into a dedicated circuit or at least not share the outlet with other high-power appliances. Do not use an extension cord, as this could pose an overheating risk.
How do I activate Sleep Mode?
Press the Sleep button on the remote control or the control panel. In sleep mode, the unit gradually increases the set temperature by 1°C every hour for 2 hours, allowing for energy savings while maintaining optimal comfort during the night.
What is the adjustable temperature range?
The temperature can be set between 17°C and 30°C (62°F to 86°F). Use the + and - keys on the remote control or the panel to adjust in 1°C increments. The blue LED display indicates the selected temperature in real-time.
How does the Energy Saver switch work?
When the Energy Saver mode is activated, the compressor and fan automatically stop once the set temperature is reached. They restart only when the room temperature rises. This mode can significantly reduce electrical consumption compared to continuous operation.
Is the remote control included and how do I use it?
Yes, a wireless remote control is provided with batteries. It allows you to control all functions: cooling mode, fan speed (3 speeds), temperature, 24-hour timer, sleep mode, and energy saver switch. Point the remote at the infrared receiver located on the front panel of the unit.
What is the minimum window height required for installation?
Installation requires a sash window with a minimum opening height of 14 inches (approximately 35.5 cm). The included mounting kit helps fill the side gaps. For secure installation, attach the unit using the provided brackets and ensure the window sill can support the 24.80 kg weight of the unit.

Frequently Asked Questions - 26/03/2026
Response Notice-Facile

To effectively clean your DANBY DAC060BHUWDB air conditioner, it is important to unplug the device before any operation for safety reasons.

Cleaning the air filter

The air filter should be cleaned approximately every 2 weeks. More frequent cleaning may be necessary in cases of heavy dust or humid conditions. Here is the detailed procedure:

  • Grab the filter tab on the right side of the intake grille and slide it to the right to remove the filter.
  • Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush to remove large debris and dust.
  • Wash the filter in warm soapy water, below 40°C (104°F), or use a neutral cleaning agent.
  • Rinse the filter thoroughly with clean water and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
  • Once dry and reinstalled, press the filter button on the control panel to resume normal operation of the device.

Cleaning the exterior

Wipe the exterior surface of the unit with a soft cloth or a warm, damp cloth if necessary. Never use gasoline, benzene, thinner, or other harsh chemicals, as they can damage the finish. Never pour water directly onto the unit to avoid electrical damage.

Checking the air grilles

Regularly ensure that the front and rear air intake grilles are not obstructed by dust or debris, to ensure optimal airflow and maintain the cooling efficiency of your DAC060BHUWDB.

End of season maintenance

Before storing your air conditioner for the winter, run the unit in high fan mode for half a day to ensure complete drying of the interior. This prevents mold formation.
