How to use the RC865 rice cooker?
Measure rice with the provided cup, pour it into the bowl, add water up to the bowl markings. Close the lid, plug in the appliance, push down the switch. The COOK light turns on. When cooking is complete, the appliance automatically switches to keep warm mode. Let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.
How much water should I add for rice?
Use the markings inside the bowl. For example, for 4 cups of uncooked rice, add water to the 4 mark. Adjust according to rice type by following the cooking guide (pages 19-20).
Can I steam vegetables in this cooker?
Yes, place the steaming basket in the bowl, add about 350 ml of water, put vegetables in the basket, close the lid and turn on. Check doneness after 5 minutes. Note that the appliance does not switch to keep warm mode for steaming.
How to clean the rice cooker?
Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Wash the bowl, lid, basket, and accessories in warm soapy water. For stuck-on residue, let soak. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Wipe the inside and outside of the base with a damp cloth. Never immerse the base.
What to do if rice sticks to the bottom of the bowl?
A thin crust may form on the bottom. Use a plastic paddle or wooden spoon to remove it. Avoid metal utensils which could scratch the nonstick coating.
Why does the cooking light turn off and the switch pop up?
This is normal. The appliance automatically switches to keep warm mode when cooking is finished. Do not try to push the switch down again while in keep warm mode.
Can I leave rice in keep warm mode for a long time?
Yes, but if you leave it for more than 30 minutes, stir it occasionally to prevent burning at the bottom. The appliance stays in keep warm mode until you unplug it.
What accessories are included with the RC865 model?
