1 Safety Informationabout the power supply Ÿ Before connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that the supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply. Ÿ Only insert the power supply unit into a socket when the appliance is switched off. Ÿ Only use the power supply unit supplied for the massager. Ÿ Keep the power supply unit, cable and appliance well away from heat, hot surfaces, moisture and liquids. Ÿ Do not touch the power supply unit when you are standing in water and always take hold of the plug with dry hands. Ÿ Do not take hold of a device if it falls into water. Pull out the power plug and the power supply unit from the socket immediately. Ÿ Connect the device only in that way, so that the power plug is freely accessible. Ÿ Always switch off the appliance after use with the buttons on the control unit and unplug the power supply unit. Ÿ To disconnect the unit from the power supply, always pull the plug out of the socket. Do not pull on the cable! Ÿ Do not carry, pull or rotate the device by its power cord. Ÿ If the power supply cable is damaged, it may only be replaced by MEDISANA, an authorised dealer or by qualified per- sonnel. Ÿ Ensure that the cable will not cause tripping. The cable must not be kinked, trapped or twisted.

1 Safety Information Ÿ This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Do not attempt to use a defective unit. Ÿ Do not use the appliance if it, or the power cord show signs of damage, if it is not in perfect working order, or if it has been dropped or become damp. In order to prevent hazards, always send the unit in to the service centre. operating the unit The device is not to be used for commercial use or medical purposes. If you have health concerns, consult your doctor before using the device. Only use the massager indoors. Do not use the device in damp rooms (e.g. when bathing or showering).

If a fault does occur, just check whether the mains power adapter is properly connected. Ÿ You may only clean the device yourself. The MEDISANA Neck Massager NM 862 is intended for targeted treat-ment of the neck and shoulder area. The pleasant vibrating massage has two levels of intensity. The massage can be enhanced with heat treatment. The red light relieves tension in the neck and shoulder muscles. iThe appliance can also run on batteries so that you can use it anywhereaway from the mains. How does the MEDISANANeck MassagerNM 862work ? CAUTION Make sure that the maximum operating time of 15 minutes is not exceeded.1.
Using with the power supply unit Insert the power supply unit plug into the connection on the device . Plug in the power supply unit. i Place the massager around the neck so that it has sufficient hold on the shoulders. i The cover of the appliance consists of flexible foam, which allows the device to adapt its shape to your nape. Press the ON/OFF-button to switch on the massage function. The appliance starts working straight away at low intensity. Press the ON/ OFF-button again to change to high massage intensity. i Press ON/OFF-button once again to switch on the heat function. A fourth press on the ON/OFF-button switches the appliance off.
Changing the batteries i Undo the zip on the back of the appliance to get access to the battery compartment . Remove the lid of the battery compartment. Insert four batteries (1.5 V, type AA LR 6). Remember to insert the batteries as indicated in the diagram in the battery compartment. Replace the battery compartment lid and do the zip up again carefully.
Using with batteries
Proceed as described in 3.1 Using with the power supply unit, 3 - 6. NOTE Only the massage function is available in battery mode. The heat function is only available when you use it with the power supply unit.

- Remove discharged batteries from the device immediately!
- Increased risk of leakage, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes! If battery acid comes in contact with any of this parts, rinse the affected area with copious amoun- ts of fresh water and seek medical attention immediately!
- If a battery has been swallowed seek medical attention immediately!
- Replace all of the batteries simultaneously!
- Only replace with batteries of the same type, never use different types of batteries together or used batteries with new ones!
- Insert the batteries correctly, observing the polarity!
- Remove the batteries from the device if it is not going to be used for an extended period!
- Keep batteries out of children's reach!
- Do not attempt to recharge these batteries! There is a danger of explosion!
- Do not short circuit! There is a danger of explosion!
- Do not throw into a fire! There is a danger of explosion!
- Do not throw used batteries into the household refuse; put them in a hazardous waste container or take them to a battery collection point, at the shop where they were purchased!

Cleaning andmaintenanceBefore cleaning the appliance, make sure that the appliance is switched off and the power supply unit is disconnected. Allow the unit to cool down.Clean the massager with a slightly damp sponge only. Never use brushes,aggressive cleaning agents, petrol, thinners or alcohol. Rub the seat dry with a clean dry cloth. i Never immerse the appliance in water to clean it and ensure water cannot get into the appliance. i Wait until the device is completely dry before using it again. i Undo any kinks in the cable. i Take care when rolling up the mains lead to avoid damaging it. iYou should ideally store the device in its original packaging and keep it in a clean, dry place.

3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for
the unit or for the replacement parts.
4. The following is excluded under the warranty:
a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non- observance of the user instructions. b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties. c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre. d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.
5. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit
