Electric travel kettle
Dear Customer,
Before using the appliance, read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.
Connection to the mains supply
The appliance should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the regulations.
The appliance is equipped with a voltage selector which can be set to different supply voltages. Always ensure that the selector is set to the correct voltage.
This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions
- In order to avoid hazards, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to our customer service department (see appendix).
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
• To avoid any risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with liquids or immerse it in a liquid.
- The appliance must be descaled at regular intervals. Clean the water container as necessary with a damp cloth.
• Detailed information on cleaning the appliance can
be found in the section Cleaning and care.
- This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age) and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.
• Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
• Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or maintenance work on the appliance unless they are supervised and at least 8 years of age.
- The appliance and its
power cord must be kept well away from children under 8 at all times.
- This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as - in staff kitchens in shops, offi ces and other similar working environments, - in agricultural working environments, - by customers in hotels, motels etc. and similar accommodation, - in bed-and breakfast type environments.
- The exterior surfaces become hot during use and will remain so for some time afterwards.
- Do not leave the water kettle unattended during operation. Use only pure water when filling the container to the desired level, observing the Min.
and Max. markings on the water level indicator. Overfilling the container may cause danger from boiling water being forced out.
- Also beware of the danger of scalding from hot steam being emitted (danger of scalding). Therefore, do not touch any parts of the appliance except the handle during use.
- Attention: During the boiling process and when pouring out hot water, the lid must be kept closed at all times.
- Caution: Any misuse of the appliance can cause severe personal injury.
- Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – such materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.
- Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects.
Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
- Caution: Always ensure that the cups and spoons are removed from the kettle before use.
- Do not operate the appliance below a hanging cupboard or similar object; there is a risk that escaping steam may be trapped underneath.
- The appliance must be placed only on a heat-resistant, level surface.
- Do not allow the appliance or its power cord to come into contact with open flames or any hot surfaces such as hot-plates.
- Do not let the power cord hang free, and keep the cord well away from hot parts of the housing.
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket,
- in case of any malfunction,
- after use,
- during cleaning.
- When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
- No responsibility will be accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
Thermal safety cut-out
The preset thermal safety cut-out protects the heating element from overheating should the appliance be erroneously switched on without containing any water, or if the heating element is calcified. Once the safety cut-out has switched off the kettle, it must be allowed to cool down sufficiently, or must be descaled, before being switched on again.
Before using for the first time
For reasons of hygiene, boil and then discard the first two fillings of water from the new kettle.
Boiling water
- Set the voltage selector to the correct voltage.
- Open the water container lid and fill the container with water to the desired level, observing the minimum and maximum level marks.
- Close the lid.
- Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket and use the On/Off switch to turn the kettle on. The indicator light comes on.
- The boiling process begins. After reaching boiling point, the appliance is automatically switched off by the integral steam cut-off device. The indicator light goes out.
- To interrupt the boiling process, use the On/Off switch to turn the kettle off.
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket before pouring hot water. - To prevent hot steam from being emitted, ensure that the lid remains closed while pouring.
- Do not leave any residual water in the container.
Descaling
Depending on the water quality in your area, lime deposits may build up on the heating element. It is advisable to remove any such deposits at regular intervals.
Any warranty claim will be null and void if the kettle malfunctions because of insufficient descaling.
When descaling, a mixture of 0.3 litres of water to two tablespoons of vinegar is suitable.
• Pour the descaler in.
- Switch the appliance on and let the solution reach boiling point.
- Leave it to take effect for a short period.
• To clean the container after descaling, rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
- Do not pour descalers down enamel-coated sinks.
Sieve
If necessary, the sieve can be removed from the spout for cleaning. Re-insert the sieve afterwards.
Cleaning and care
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the kettle in liquid and do not clean it under running water.
- For cleaning, a slightly damp, lint-free cloth may be used.
- Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or stiff brushes for cleaning.
- The cups and spoons may be cleaned in warm soapy water. Caution: These items are not dishwasher-safe.
Storage
To save space, the cups can be put inside each other and then stored in the water container, together with the spoons. However, ensure first that the appliance has completely cooled down.
Disposal

Devices marked with this symbol must be disposed of separately from your household waste, as they contain valuable materials which can be recycled. Proper disposal protects the environment and human health. Your local authority or retailer can provide information on the matter.
Guarantee
This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.
This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights, nor any legal rights you may have as a consumer under applicable national legislation governing the purchase of goods. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return. If within the guarantee period, please also provide the guarantee card and proof of purchase.
