How to configure the Crestron CENGWEXERPWE WiFi repeater?

Plug in the repeater, connect to its default WiFi network (SSID: Crestron_Setup), and open a browser to access the configuration interface. Follow the instructions to select your existing network and enter the password.

What if I cannot connect the repeater to my router?

Check that the router is emitting a WiFi signal. Make sure the repeater is within range (no more than 20 meters). Restart both devices and try again. Use the WPS button if available.

Does the repeater reduce my connection speed?

Yes, a repeater can halve the bandwidth because it receives and retransmits the signal. To minimize loss, place it halfway between your router and the desired area.

How to reset the repeater to factory settings?

Hold down the reset button for 10 seconds with a paperclip until the LEDs flash. The repeater will restart with default settings.

Can I use the repeater in access point mode?

Yes, in the configuration interface, select Access Point mode. Connect the repeater to your router via an Ethernet cable so it acts as an additional WiFi access point.

How to change the password of the repeated WiFi network?

Log into the web interface of the repeater (default IP address 192.168.1.1). Go to WiFi settings and modify the password in the security section. Don't forget to save the changes.

Does the repeater support WiFi 6?

No, this model supports WiFi 5 (802.11ac) and lower standards. For WiFi 6, see newer Crestron models.

What is the maximum range of the repeater?

The range depends on the environment. Indoors, it can reach 30 to 50 meters in direct line of sight. Walls and obstacles reduce range.

How to update the repeater firmware?

Access the web interface, go to the Administration or Maintenance section, and click on 'Update'. Download the latest firmware from Crestron's website and follow the instructions.

The WiFi LED blinks orange, what does it mean?

A blinking orange LED indicates that the repeater is trying to connect to the router. If it stays solid, the connection is established. Refer to the manual for detailed LED codes.
