USER MANUAL Maxi Plancha TEFAL
- CAUTION: Do not use this appliance with wood charcoal or a similar fuel.
- Product Use, Maintenance and Installation: for your safety, please re- fer to the various paragraphs of this manual and the corresponding pictograms.
- This appliance is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
- This appliance is designed for domestic household use only. It is not intended to be used in the following cases, which are not covered by the guarantee. – In kitchens reserved for sta use in shops, oces and other professional environments; – On farms; – By hotel or motel clients, or in other residential premises; – In bed and breakfast accommodation and other similar environ- ments.
- Any commercial use, inappropriate use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility and the guarantee will not apply.
- This appliance is not intended to be used by persons (including chil- dren) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been given instructions beforehand concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance or use the appliance as a toy.
- Accessible surface temperatures can be high when the appli- ance is operating.
- Remove all packaging materials, stickers and accessories from in- side and outside of the appliance.
- Unwind the power cord fully before use.7
- For your safety, this appliance meets applicable standards and reg- ulations (Directives on Low Voltage, Electromagnetic Compatibili- ty, Materials in contact with food articles, Environment, etc.).
- Only plug the appliance into sockets with an integrated ground connection.
- Do not use an extension lead. If you accept liability for doing so : – ensure it is of suitable construction and power rating, with an earth connection; – take all necessary precautions to prevent anyone tripping over an extension cord.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufac- turer or its after-sales service.
- Only the power cable provided must be used.
- The power cable must be removed before cleaning the appliance and the connector must be dried before using the appliance again.
- Check the power cable regularly for signs of damage. Do not use your appliance if the cable is damaged.
- This appliance is not intended to function using an external timeswitch or a separate remote control system.
- Never leave the appliance unattended whilst connected to the pow er supply, even if for a few moments, especially where children are present.
- Never immerse the appliance or its power cord in water or any oth- er liquid.
- This appliance can be used by children aged eight or older, people with reduced physical, , sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are properly super- vised or have received instructions on the safe use of the appliance and understand the risks involved. Cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are at least eight years old and supervised by an adult.8

- Read the instructions carefully, common to dierent versions depending on the accessories supplied with your ap- pliance, and keep them within reach.
- If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary.
- Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particularly sensitive respiratory system, such as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.
- During rst use, wash the plate, pour a little oil on top and wipe it using a soft cloth. Remove any surplus oil using clean kitchen paper towel.
- Always use a wooden or plastic spatula to avoid damaging the cooking plate.
- Place the thermostat in the min. position before unplugging it.
- Check that the appliance is cooled and disconnected before stowing away.
- Food items must be placed on the cooking plates while avoiding all contact with the oil lter.
- If the appliance is used in the centre of the table, keep it out of reach of children.
- Check that the appliance is completely stable prior to use.
- See to the placement of the power cord, with or without the use of an extension cord, taking all necessary precau- tions to not hamper the movement of the guests around the table so that no one will get tangled in it.

- To prevent the appliance from overheating, do not place it in a corner or against a wall.
- Never place the appliance directly on a fragile surface (glass table, tablecloth, varnished furniture, etc.) or on a soft surface such as a tea-towel.
- Do not move the appliance when in use.
- Never leave the appliance unattended when plugged in or in use.
- Do not use aluminium foil or other objects between the plate and the food being cooked.
- Do not place cooking utensils on the cooking surfaces of the appliance.
- To preserve the non-stick properties of the coating, do not cook food in aluminium foil.
- To avoid damaging your appliance, do not use ambé recipes in connection with it at any time.
- Never handle the juice collection tray when the appliance is hot. If the juice collection tray becomes full during cook- ing, allow the appliance to cool before emptying it.
- Do not cut directly on the plate.
- Do not place the appliance on or near slippery or hot surfaces; never leave the cord hanging above a heat source (cooktops, gas stoves, etc.)
- Do not leave the appliance in direct sunlight or outside in winter.
- Do not use metal scourers or scouring powders to avoid damaging the cooking surface (non-stick coating, ...).9
- On rst use, there may be a slight odour and a little smoke which is normal and will disappear.
- For your safety, this appliance conforms to all applicable standards and regulations (Low Voltage Directive, Electro- magnetic Compatibility, Food Compliant Materials, Environment, …).
- The green indicator light will regularly turn o and on again during use to indicate that the temperature is main- tained.
- Do not consume foodstu that comes into contact with the parts marked with logo. Environment Environment protection rst! Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be recovered or recycled. Leave it at a local civic waste collection point.10
