Information for Your Safety

WARNING:

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or product damage,

  • Do not expose this unit to rain, moisture, dripping or splashing.
  • Use only the recommended accessories.
  • Do not remove covers.
  • Do not repair this unit by yourself. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.

The socket outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

CAUTION!

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or product damage,

  • Do not install or place this unit in a bookcase, built-in cabinet or in another confined space. Ensure this unit is well ventilated.

  • The AC adaptor is in the standby condition when the mains plug is connected. The primary circuit is always "live" as long as the mains plug is connected to an electrical outlet.

AC Adaptor

This AC Adaptor operates on AC between 110 V and 240 V.

But

  • In the U.S.A. and Canada, the AC Adaptor must be connected to a 120 V AC power supply only.
  • When connecting to an AC supply outside of the U.S.A. or Canada, use a plug adaptor to suit the AC outlet configuration.
  • When connecting to a supply of greater than AC 125V , ensure the cord you use is suited to the voltage of the AC supply and the rated current of the AC Adaptor.
  • Contact an electrical parts distributor for assistance in selecting a suitable AC plug adaptor or AC cord set.

About the AC mains lead with a moulded three pin plug

Caution for AC mains lead

For your safety, please read the following text carefully.

This appliance is supplied with a moulded three pin mains plug for your safety and convenience.

A 5-ampere fuse is fitted in this plug. Should the fuse need to be replaced please ensure that the replacement fuse has a rating of 5-ampere and that it is approved by ASTA or BSI to BS1362. Check for the ASTA mark or the BSI mark on the body of the fuse.

If the plug contains a removable fuse cover you must ensure that it is refitted when the fuse is replaced.

If you lose the fuse cover the plug must not be used until a replacement cover is obtained.

A replacement fuse cover can be purchased from your local dealer.

Remove the connector cover.

How to replace the fuse

The location of the fuse differ according to the type of AC mains plug (figures A and B). Confirm the AC mains plug fitted and follow the instructions below.

Illustrations may differ from actual AC mains plug.

  • The method for connecting to a digital camera DMC-GH4 is described as an example.
  • Check that the camera is turned off.

1Connect the AC cable (AC mains lead) to the power input terminal of this unit.

  • Do not use any other AC cables (AC mains leads) except the supplied one.
  • The AC cable (AC mains lead) is dedicated for this unit. Do not use it with other devices.

2Insert the power plug into the electrical outlet fully and firmly.
3Connect the DC output plug into the digital camera (DC coupler).

  • Check that the DC coupler is securely inserted into the digital camera.
  • Refer also to the operating instructions for the digital camera and the DC coupler.

Cautions for Use

  • When the AC Adaptor is in use, it may generate whirring sounds. This is not a malfunction.
  • If you use the AC Adaptor near a radio (especially when you are tuning in AM stations), radio reception may be disturbed. Keep the AC Adaptor 1 m (3.3 feet) or more away from a radio.
  • After use, be sure to disconnect the power plug from the electrical outlet. (If it is left connected, about 0.1 W of current is consumed at most.)
  • When the terminal of the AC adaptor becomes dirty, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use the AC Adaptor outdoors.
  • Use the AC adaptor in an environment with an ambient temperature ranging from 0^ to 40^ (32°F to 104°F).
  • Do not put heavy objects or step on this unit.

Limited Warranty Coverage (For USA and Puerto Rico Only)

If your product does not work properly because of a defect in materials or workmanship, Panasonic Corporation of North America (referred to as "the warrantor") will, for the length of the period indicated on the chart below, which starts with the date of original purchase ("warranty period"), at its option either (a) repair your product with new or refurbished parts, (b) replace it with a new or a refurbished equivalent value product, or (c) refund your purchase price. The decision to repair, replace or refund will be made by the warrantor.

When shipping Lithium Ion batteries please visit our Web Site at www.panasonic.com/BatteryHandling as Panasonic is committed to providing the most up to date information. Include a letter detailing the complaint, a return address and provide a daytime phone number where you can be reached. A valid registered receipt is required under the Limited Warranty.

IF REPAIR IS NEEDED DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD, THE PURCHASER WILL BE REQUIRED TO FURNISH A SALES RECEIPT/PROOF OF PURCHASE INDICATING DATE OF PURCHASE, AMOUNT PAID AND PLACE OF PURCHASE. CUSTOMER WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE REPAIR OF ANY UNIT RECEIVED WITHOUT SUCH PROOF OF PURCHASE.

Limited Warranty Limits And Exclusions

This warranty ONLY COVERS failures due to defects in materials or workmanship, and DOES NOT COVER normal wear and tear or cosmetic damage. The warranty ALSO DOES NOT COVER damages which occurred in shipment, or failures which are caused by products not supplied by the warrantor, or failures which result from accidents, misuse, abuse, neglect, mishandling, misapplication, alteration, faulty installation, set-up adjustments, misadjustment of consumer controls, improper maintenance, power line surge, lightning damage, modification, introduction of sand, humidity or liquids, commercial use such as hotel, office, restaurant, or other business or rental use of the product, or service by anyone other than a Factory Service Center or other Authorized Servicer, or damage that is attributable to acts of God.

THERE ARE NO EXPRESS WARRANTY WARRANTIES EXCEPT AS LISTED UNDER "LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE".

THE WARRANTYOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT, OR ARISING OUT OF ANY BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY.
