How to descale my kettle?
To descale, fill the kettle with 2 cups (0.5 L) of cold water and 1 cup (0.25 L) of white vinegar. Bring to a boil, then discard. Rinse with clear water. You can also use a commercial descaling product following the manufacturer's instructions.
Can I heat a small amount of water?
Yes, you can heat a minimum amount of 0.75 L (3 cups). Do not operate the kettle without water. The kettle turns off automatically if empty.
How to clean the descaling filter?
Remove the filter by pressing with a finger toward the inside of the spout. Wash it with soapy water and rinse. Reinsert by pushing until it clicks into place. Never put the kettle in the dishwasher.
Why does my kettle turn off before boiling?
This may be due to scale buildup or insufficient water. Check the water level and descale the kettle if necessary. The dry boil protection may also cut power if the kettle is empty.
Can I use the kettle outdoors?
No, the appliance is designed for indoor household use only. Do not use it outdoors to avoid fire or electric shock hazards.
The cord is short, can I use an extension cord?
Yes, you can use an extension cord, but it must be grounded (3 prongs) and have a power rating at least equal to the appliance (1500 W). Place it to avoid tripping hazards.
How to remove and replace the descaling filter?
Ensure the kettle is cool and unplugged. Press the filter from inside the spout with a finger to release it. To reinstall, place it with the tabs toward the spout and press until it clicks.
What to do if the kettle does not heat?
Check that the kettle is properly placed on the base and the switch is in the on (I) position. If the indicator does not light, check the electrical outlet. If the problem persists, contact customer service at 1-800-231-9786 (U.S./Canada).
Is the kettle under warranty?
Yes, it comes with a one-year limited warranty from the date of purchase, valid in the United States and Canada. Keep your sales receipt as proof of purchase. For more information, visit www.prodprotect.com/applica.
